Review summary

Will never cruise with NCL again. This was the worst cruise. The mini family suite was a joke. This was not a suite but an ocean view cabin.

The smallest suite ever. Should have been a oceanview cabin.

Never cruise on NCL. I know this was my first and last cruise with this line.

Your review makes it very clear which cruise line is best for you. Carnival seems to meet your cruising needs. Having gone on 3 cruises on Carnival and 3 on Norwegian, Norwegian happens to be our favorite. Two of the cruises we took with Norwegian just happened to be on the Breakaway. We thoroughly enjoyed both. Hope your cruising days get better! as you return to Carnival. Happy Cruising Everybody!! 🛳❣️🛳❣️🛳

I was on the same cruise and loved it! I had a balcony and was small for 2 of us, would have never dreamed of putting any others in it. There were 6 of us...with 3 cabins.

This just sounds like another BS review. One star for everything about the ship, from food to entertainment. Sorry, I dont believe her. Looks like she has taken 6 Carnival cruises previously. The difference in cabins isn't much between the two.

A mini suite just basically has a bigger bathroom with 2 sinks and a bigger shower. If you wanted something bigger you should have either booked a suite in Haven or gotten 2 connected cabins. Also wise to double check floor plans before booking.

breakaway cabins are very small but if it had a balcony, a mini suite does, it is not an oceanview. we hated the breakaway but for what we consider real letdowns. we had minisuite as well and thought it was small even for a basic balcony

Not sure what happened, but it’s always a good idea to check online for floor plans and photos of the cabin you are considering before booking. That can keep you from being surprised or disappointed. I’m not sure the room issue should have caused a one-star review with no explanations on everything else.

Ocean view cabin? Are you saying there was no balcony? Maybe they put you in the wrong room. I agree that mini-suite is the wrong name for that cabin. It should be delux-balcony. Of course you can tell the mini-suite is not a full suite by looking at the cabin layout that you see when selecting your room. And of course the price is only slightly higher than the balcony cost but is way way under the full suite cost. But everyone who books that category knows this.

Did you research cabin types before booking? Deck plans are extremely helpful when deciding what stateroom is best for your needs, as are videos/pics from previous guests. While the Breakaway isn't my favorite ship, I feel your review may be based on a lack of planning and/or research.
