Hard to explain some bad reviews I’ve read of the Breakaway. The ship is beautiful and immaculate in spite of non-stop partying! The service was terrific. Ship was crowded but we never waited in lines for drinks or food!

We arrived at the cruise terminal at a very busy time, so the terminal was fairly crowded and we waited about 45 minutes to board the ship.

Manhattan, Taste, Savor and O’Sheehan’s all had phenomenal service and the food was terrific. The Garden Cafe (buffet) was very good. There was a good variety of food and the buffet/dining area are immaculate at all times.
Onboard Activities

Although we did not participate, and we did not have children with us, I found the slides, rock climbing wall and children’s pool area to be awesome. The adult pool is ridiculously small for the size of the ship! Whenever we wanted to relax in the sun, we went to Deck 16 to Spice H2O. There are plenty of sun chairs, 2 hot tubs, 2 rainfall showers and an awesome very large waterfall to splash in and cool off! No children are allowed in Spice H2O.

Entertainment

Burn the Floor and Rock if Ages were both very good shows. Very talented dancing and singing. Make reservations on line prior to the cruise. The shows fill up quickly. Also, arrive 1/2 hour early too get good seats. Also saw some very talented singers in the Atrium as we were passing through.
Service and Staff

Our room steward, Ryan, was excellent! Our room was immaculate and done early in the day. Turn down service was also excellent and everything was replenished timely (towels, coffee, etc). All of the waitstaff and bartenders were personable and efficient! Excellent waitstaff in the casino, Soledad and Jerwin, especially, were, very attentive and worked very hard. NCL is lucky to have them . Casino host, Wei Seng Kuang, was very personable! We loved chatting with him!!!

Good size for 2. Loads of storage! Hard to access closet... too close to bed! Bed so, so comfortable!
Ship tip
Avoid the main buffet for breakfast! Have a quiet, outdoor breakfast buffet at Margaritaville on Deck 16!!!
Beautiful pool on the private island. Every food and drink item is rather expensive and I believe NCL should not be charging their passengers for food and drink that they have already paid for in their cruise package!
We went to Maya Chan. Service from the owner and staff were impeccable! Taco lunch was superb! True Mayan experience. The seaweed does take away from the beautiful water, ur this resort works nonstop to mitigate the problems caused by the seaweed! Very relaxing beach day. If you’re looking for a wild party-like resort, then Maya Chan is not for you! We enjoyed our day!!!
