Heard several staff members were quarantined due to illness. They didn’t have enough staff for the amount of people on the ship. Service was slow and without personality or a smile. The worst cruise experience I’ve ever had

Food and Dining

Drinks were OK when made correctly, food was mediocre at best. Breakfast, lunch and all side dishes at the buffet were the same every single day. No variety. And PACKED! Other dining areas were so slow to service us. We waited hours at O’sheehans and Taste/Savor to be waited on and food to come out. And twice my food never arrived and drinks were incorrect.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Rock climbing wall was open one time on the whole cruise. Trampoline thing was never open. Beams were only open a couple times. Slides were OK, but two of the popular slides you have a weight minimum (100lbs) and neither of my kids could ride them. Definitely not enough activities for kids, I do not recommend this boat for people with young children. The small mini golf course needs desperate repair. There was never an employee there watching over it, teen kids hitting balls as hard as they could sending balls every which way and almost hit me and my son in the head. Balls were flying onto different decks and no one ever kicked these kids out.
The bingo emcee said the same jokes at every single game.

Awful, rarely a smile on anyone. People taking pictures of you. wouldn’t be friendly if you tried to take your own pic as well with your own cell phone, to the point of being rude and rolling eyes. Waiters were slow and food delivered slow or wrong, drinks also wrong.
Room stewards don’t make towel animals anymore unless you ask them to. So I asked. Out of the 7 days he only made it 3 times.
Ship Quality

Bathrooms were poorly maintained, and the layout was not logistically laid out effectively

Ship tip
Do not take younger children on this ship, there is not enough for them to do.
Monkeys were the best. However, if you book outside of Norwegian you’ll save several hundred dollars ;)
The port itself is ‘owned’ by Norwegian so you only see what they give you to see. It’s not real shops if you know what I mean. You have to get out of the port to really experience roatan. If you leave the port you’ll be happier
Royal Caribbean also has their ‘own’ port/island. Which includes free food and drink.
This Norwegian port should be the same, but drinks and food are outrageously priced
Another example of someone who has never worked in the service industry....4,000+ guests eating meals at the same time, of course there’s going to be a bit of a wait. Maybe next time book a river cruise with 300 passengers
You said there were many staff guys that were ill,... And then you ask the roomboy for towel animals, although you know, that He maybe must work more, because of the missing staff.... Wow 🤔
Your "young children" were both over 100 lbs? Could you be exaggerating any? At least other guests who sailed the same week said they had a great time in their reviews.
