This was our 4th Norwegian Cruise. Some things are better some are not. Don't overpack. Bring plenty of sunscreen. Ask yourself if you really need to wear a speedo or a thong. There are some views I will ( sadly ) never forget.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Vastly improved over the past.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Service in all dining rooms is excellent. Moderna service was truly 5 star. Our waiter Chetanand Raghoonanoun was outstanding. Le Bistro food and service were world class.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Rock climbing and pools were great. Spa is very expensive.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Pianist James Sullivan was very good and entertaining. Guitarist Leo was also very good. There was an 80s cover band from Orlando that was excellent. Dueling Pianos had a singer who screamed so much I couldn't understand him. If he didn't have the Piano I would have thought he was drowning.
Children's Programs
4 out of 5
Teenager loved the entourage.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Aside from one waitress all service personnel was very good. Customer service rep Melina Sanchez was wonderful. Security agent Melvin was also very good.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Cleanliness was overall very good but there was room for improvement. Glasses, cups and plates were left in the corridors longer then they should have been.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Inside cabin was VERY small. Bed was very uncomfortable. Shower backed up for 4 days despite calling maintenance the first day.
Ship tip
Before you buy any excursions. Find out what ports you will be in. Go on you tube and see past cruisers and crew advice. Don't belive all you here from the locals and tour guides. I researched You tube and followed some great advice. Saved money. Taxi drivers tried to steer me elsewher. I didn't pay attention and am glad I went to teh reccomendations on you tube. Bring plenty of sun screen . You will pay 3 to 4 times more on the ship and in the ports.
West end is crowded. Avoid it. Gumbalimba Park and Bananarama Beach are excellent. Bananarama will charge $10.00 per Beach chair. The Places on either side will Charge you $20.00. No one tells you this. You don't have to use the chairs.
Beach is crowded. Take a shuttle outside of the complex. DO NOT pay for Beaches up front. The shuttle will get you to the Beach for $4.00. Don't fall for the "all inclusive". Most beaches will let you use the beach chairs if you buy a beer or hamburger.
