We absolutely enjoyed this cruise! We purchased cruise next vouchers!!! Can't wait to sail again! Maybe in a cooler season!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We arrived straight from our flight into Miami (a bit of a wait at the airport) walked through the embarkation process without a wait. We were sent to the waiting area to wait until our group was called which was literally before we found a seat! We went to the buffet, got a bite for lunch, & then went to the pool bar to enjoy a drink.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
All of the food was good! Cagney's was amazing - as was Savor & Taste. We enjoyed our waiter, Chavan, at Savor so we went there often! Everything was clean & well kept.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We enjoyed the pool - wish it was bigger! The crew did an awesome of job of making sure that the kids stayed in their pool. We enjoyed rock climbing, putt-putt, & the ropes course. The casino was fun as well.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We missed the stage shows but everyone said they were great! We did catch a comedy act, the dueling pianos at Howl At the Moon, & the Magician in the Breakaway Theater - all were fun. The entertainment in the Atrium was enjoyable as well.
Children's Programs
Our daughters are older.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All of the crew members were awesome! We loved our room steward, Nancy! She was so very sweet & especially helpful when my daughters & husband weren't feeling the best! Chavan, our waiter at Savor was the BEST!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
This was our first cruise so while others complained about the layout, we didn't find an issue with it. We got turned around a lot - but that was our fault. All areas were clean as crew was constantly picking up after people who apparently are unable to pick up after themselves.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Nancy kept our room immaculate! It was fine for 4 adults. The balcony was a bit small but it is what it is! Everything worked properly & we had no problems.
Ship tip
Ask Guest services to punch a hole in your card so that it can be scanned as needed - trying to get it out of the plastic badge holders every time we ordered a drink got old quickly. You are on a cruise...be happy & enjoy yourself - no need to be rude to the crew - you get back what you put in...
Unless I missed something, there wasn't much to do here. I purchased entry into the Daniel Johnson Sloth & Monkey Hangout (not with the ship). We walked out past all of the excursion vendors to meet Diana our driver arranged by Daniel Johnson. She was very sweet & gave us a bit of history as we drove to the Hangout. The driving there is...crazy! A motorcycle in front of us rear ended a small SUV. Yikes! The Hangout was fun! The sloth was so cute - we each got to hold it. The monkeys are nuts! Do NOT forget & put your phone in your pocket while in the monkey enclosure! I forgot...lets just say...thankfully I had a glass screen protector! All is well!
We went to the resort & spent the afternoon in the pool! We started out at the beach but decided to go to the pool instead. The pool was clean, clear, & relaxing. There are lots of shops to venture into.
We got off the boat - found a taxi & went to Krazy Lobster! $12.00 taxi ride for 4 of us. Upon arrival Martin got us a table for 4, 4 lounge chairs at the beach edge, & an umbrella. He gave us options for excursions that they do from there as well. We opted for drinks (mixed drinks were $6.00 - mini Coronas were 5 for $10?? We also ordered nachos. Total bill was $51.00 for the time we spent there - probably 3-4 hours. The beach was netted off to keep as much of the red tide out as possible. My two daughters & I enjoyed hour long massages ($20pp). We also went on a snorkel trip (thanks to Martin!) to swim with sea turtles & rays. Very cool! $25pp. (Lots of vendors would walk through Krazy Lobster trying to sell their goods. We just told them no thanks & they moved along.)
$38pp (snorkel & buffet) & a $13.00 taxi ride got us into Chankanaab Adventure Park. The excursion through the park was MUCH more! The park is BIG & extremely clean! Get there early & enjoy snorkeling with a HUGE variety of very friendly fish! They followed us everywhere until the crowds arrived! I can't begin to detail how many different varieties of fish we saw. Even 2 large lobsters were poking their heads out of some rocks. You can see the statues as well - no need to purchase the diving package for this. The dolphin & manatee swim looked fun but was very expensive...go to the gift shop - where they sell the photo packages...much cheaper for the same service...you don't really get to interact with the dolphins & manatees like you think you will...we watched... There's a sea lion show & crocodile exhibits, a small beach area, pool, zip lining...
