Look a little further and find a different cruise, There are plenty of wonderful cruise lines/ships out there. I will avoid "Costa line" and "Norwegian line" in the future. based on my many cruise experiences.

Restaurants were just ok, Buffet was horrible, Broke $3000 bridgework (tooth) on there rotisserie chicken ) bone fragment in breast. desserts were terrible except Rhubarb cobbler.
Onboard Activities

venues a bit small for crowds. All the HOT TUBS (Broken) they were room temperature not hot as the name indicates. Even with me asking them, to direct me to one , or actually making one HOT nothing was done to remedy situation.

Ballroom dancing show was surprisingly fantastic, rock show pretty good.

with compulsory tipping all services deteriorate as a general rule. Te service was adequate perhaps, but the poorest on any ship we have been on. (25 cruises)
Ship Quality

Layout was a disaster. Instead of having the casino (with its smokers) in one small area, as one other ships, it was spread through the hallways. Midship with its 3 or 4 story mezzanine , all the smoke poured down to all levels of the ship. We couldn't even try the Asian restaurant because of a blue haze in the air and dry cough it caused. I had smokers cough for a day after leaving the ship. Also they had a loud stage in the mezzanine disturbing all guests on 3 floors, whether you were in the sports bar, ora restaurant, there sales pitches for one thing or another blared up the 3 floors.
Cabin / Stateroom

It was the smallest cabinet we have found in 25 cruises, but it was fine for us.
Horribly smoky line up went through the smokiest part of the ship. They could ventilate the ships smoke out of the ship but they dont do any, it smelled extremely smoky right from the time we boarded through disembarkation. No attempt is made on this ship to change out the air.
The reason I have never left a cruise comment before from other ships is I had never heard of this site before "United" asked me to review, as I had booked through them. 85% of the reviews of The "Breakaway" for May and June, on "Cruise Critic" site reflect exactly my criticisms of poor service to smokiness.
For someone who has been on 25 plus cruises why arnt any listed in your bio? I have been on 3 different NCL cruises and I dont smoke (allergic to cigarettes) . The smoke never got to me and I spent a lot of time in the casino. Too many fake reviews are out here giving people false info.
