Review summary

I thought 11 nights on a cruise ship would be too much. I was wrong. I loved all the stops throughout the Caribbean. A nice mix of beaches, water activities, and cultural excursions. The food and entertainment on the ship was great. I really enjoyed the spa, either in the morning or evening after an excursion. Cant wait for my next cruise....this time to Alaska.

Embarkation

The New Orleans terminal appeared to be going through some renovations. The terminal area was really congested. I took the NCL bus from the airport to the terminal. Once inside the terminal, the check-in and boarding process was a breeze.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Buffet was excellent. Every meal there was so much variety to choose from.

Garden Café

5 out of 5

So many selections to choose from. Never had any complaints from the buffet.

La Cucina

5 out of 5

Love dining on the waterfront. You must try the lasagna......soooo good.

Bar at the Atrium

5 out of 5

Although this area can get crowded and the bar busy, I like having a drink at this bar and watching the activities going on in the atrium.

O'Sheehan's Neighborhood Bar and Grille

5 out of 5

Nice place to get a quick bite, especially when first boarding.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The spa was very relaxing. It costs extra and they only sell a certain number of passes (get them early).

Ropes Course

5 out of 5

Not just for kids. Nice views up there, and you may burn a few calories too.

Breakaway Casino

5 out of 5

I like the roulette table and the live poker tournaments. I only wish the casino was non-smoking.

Spa Thermal Suite

5 out of 5

The Thermal Suite is a must for me. Dry sauna, steam room, large bubbling pool to massage your aching muscles, and the heated loungers for final relaxation.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The dueling pianos is always a must see.

Syd Norman's Pour House

5 out of 5

Had a couple live bands followed by karaoke..... I gave it a go...a night to remember.

Children's Programs

Did not experience these programs

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
No problems with any of the staff...very professional.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Nice layout. I like relaxing on The Waterfront.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin size and layout is perfect, including the balcony.

Ship tip

Pay extra for the balcony..it's worth it. Also, you must try the spa...very relaxing.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

5 out of 5
The port is right down town. Easy to see thing before or after your cruise.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Not a whole lot of things to do at this port. I did the Dunn River Falls with the rum punch catamaran. Simple excursion...really enjoyed it. You can walk up the falls (in the falls) or walk along the trail next to the falls.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Went on the Atlantis submarine tour. Pretty cool looking at shipwrecks and sea life. Then I relaxed on 7-mile beach for a few hours.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
Went to a resort on the other side of the island. Chilled by the pool, had a few drinks, and took some beautiful photos.

Belize City, Belize

5 out of 5
At this stop, I took the snorkeling excursion to the barrier reef, then chilled on a private little island for a few hours.

Harvest Caye, Belize

5 out of 5
Did the zipline from the top of the lighthouse, then had some rum punch in the pool for a few hours.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
The port area is kind of small. I took the excursion to the Mayan ruins. I paid a little extra to go on the smaller tour van with about 6 others. Had our own tour guide...very well worth it.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Went to Passion Island for the day. Food and drinks included....nice place to relax.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Had to wait about 20 minutes at the gathering point. Once we started off the ship, it was quick. Straight to the NCL bus and off to the airport.

We did Alaska last year. My favorite cruise to date. It’s hard to beat.
