Nice relaxing trip, but not one of my favorites. Was a little disappointed in the Haven, so not sure if I would pay the premium price to stay in the Haven on this ship.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Having a room in the Haven gave us priority embarkation & quick access to our room
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food was just OK in the included restaurants, but much better in the specialty restaurants, which there is of course an upcharge. We had the dining plan & the Haven has it's own restaurant, so the food there was excellent. One big complaint is, even though we had the dining plan, the Ocean Blue still had quite a few upcharges on their menu & the food was no better than the other specialty restaurants. Had we known ahead of time, we would have chosen a different restaurant, but they don't tell you that ahead of time.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There was plenty to do aboard this ship, although we really did not do much aboard the ship
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Great shows, but what was different was that you had to make reservations for quite a few of the shows & there were charges for some of them, so we could not get to see all that we wanted to as the theater is quite small compared to the other NCL ships we have been on.
Children's Programs
There looked like there were tons of things for the kids to do, but we did not have children on this cruise
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Been in the Haven before, but did not get the service we expected from the concierges on this ship. They would not follow up on requests & you had to double check every reservation as they would forget to make them for you.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Everything was taken care of very well
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We had plenty of space in our Haven cabin, although the balcony is tiny on the forward facing penthouse, but adequate. BEWARE when making your reservation as my sister booked the same cabin as she wanted a separate bedroom as her husband gets up early & she likes to sleep in, but they put her in a handicapped cabin & it was just one big room, so she was miserable for the entire trip & got no sleep. Nowhere does it tell you that there is no separate bedroom in the handicap room & nobody did anything to help her to find the accommodations that she had booked. They didn't even try to put her in 2 adjoining rooms so that she could at least have had that separate bedroom that she needed. I am sure she will never cruise with NCL again as they were not very helpful in her situation.
Did the zip line, but was a little disappointing as it was all flat & really not anything to see. The island itself was beautiful, but there were not hills or mountains, so no real zipline experience
