Review summary

Horrible cruise. Made it to only two ports, Estonia and St. Petersburg. Horrible ships captain, horrible rude staff, everyone was unhappy which made for a depressing experience . Everyone had to scramble to make new arrangements since ports were cancelled and everyone lost money and cringed every time the captain made his daily announcement. When the captain didn’t his Q&A the questions were directed at his choices in navigation (which was to sit still) and why the ports were cancelled (they could’ve easily changed the itinerary and moved the ports) it was really bad when he would move on to another person when he didn’t like a question so the next person would ask the same question and he’s refuse to answer and everyone got upset because basically he didn’t care that he didn’t have to cancel he just chose to arbitrarily and only because corporate made him go, he actually went to Russia or else that would’ve been missed too. Worst cruise ever EVER!! Oh also NCL is notorious for not giving a care if they cancel a port. They make their money either way.

Some do give compensation for weather related issues.

The captain doesn’t control entry into the ports in bad weather the country decides that.

evy65: Nationwide has Trip Insurance that will pay for itinerary changes both before departure as well as during your trip. I've purchased it in the past especially during multiple port trips or hurricane season.....

evy65    6 years ago

I don't think insurance covers not going to particular ports.. As the ncl contract says they could change itinerary without notice..

I agree with you, ncl don't care, and the help don't seem happy..experienced the same thing" this ship..The Escape was a tad better...prefer Carnival

floatersunited: Yes, that's why I said that "luckily your trip insurance covered missed ports and trip interruption..."

Cant you claim something back from your own insurance 🤔

They won’t give compensation for weather related issues..it’s a chance you take when you cruise, it’s in the contract. Happened to me back in 2012 with superstorm Sandy- we made it to Port Canaveral and that was it- sea days and one stop in Virginia. Did I want to be in Virginia instead of the Bahamas- nope! But Mother Nature does what she wants..NCL cannot control that!

I personally would be emailing ncl and demanding compensation and a apology or is it a case of cut your losses 😟 sorry to hear your cruise wasn't enjoyable dont give up on cruising 👍
