Review summary

Avoid getting sick. I had bronchitis and went to the medical center. One hour of treatment and a few pills ran $1,350; obscene. It really put a damper on what was a great cruise. Also there is a daily charge for tips to the person who made up our room; I doubt he/she got all of it.

Much smaller than expected for a "mini-suite."

yes, a lot of ppl you don't see work that ship. you only see a few a day. every ship adds $13 to $14 per day per passenger. the crew works very hard 7 days a week 10 or 12 hours a day. i have been on 4 cruises and never had a problem with any crew, they earn their money!!!

I feel on the Escape two years ago on a wet floor. I wasn’t charged at all. I received X-rays and pain medication. Could be I wasn’t charged because the “wet floor” sign was in the wrong location. 🤔

Go to front desk and fill out one easy form and they give it back to you how you paid it. I paid it daily in cash and at the end of the trip I got it back in cash and gave it to the crew that I wanted too. Most people don’t know you can do that

You can take your gratuity back the day before the last day and give it to who ever you want. I found that out on my last cruise.

Price out that Urgent Care visit with 1 hour treatment plus prescription medication WITHOUT insurance here in the US and it would be pretty close to $1,350. The DSC (Daily Service Charges) covers staff in housekeeping, buffet, pool decks, complimentary restaurant waitstaff, your room steward, etc so you are correct...... it is split amongst all the people you probably didn't see that made your cruise a wonderful time..... a little research would've also indicated that a "mini suite" is just a balcony with a fancier bathroom.

That is NOT NCL fault you need to buy insurance and the prepaid tips are right there when you read your contract.I would NEVER but you can get these taking off.I am sorry but people need to read things a lot better before booking.I prepaid my tips for the 14.When I go I don’t have to spend a dime if I don’t want to

I totally know what you are talking about. If you have insurance you may be able to get the cost refunded. My wife got cut on some coral in Bermuda and it cost us $600 for one stiche. We were able to recover the entire amount from our insurance company. Good luck.
