Review summary

Loved that we stayed at Bermuda 2 1/2 days, (we actually left earlier that the itinerary states) & overall the cruise was good. We are use to Royal Caribbean's cruises so loved the freestyle concept too.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
I needed special assistance via wheel chair so we were able to bypass the long line, so it went pretty quick for us. However, we found out from another passenger that they should've asked if we would like to upgrade to "the Vibe" category??? I guess they had a nicer sundeck & bar area???

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The Buffet was laid out in a weird way & we didn't like the food there, but the other restaurants were great.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
So this is where it was bad - unless your a kid or love rock climbing. The pool was the smallest pool we've ever seen on a ship this size. In fact it was smaller than our neighborhood pool & about the size of my brother-N-laws back yard pool. The only time we could even get in it was when we were at port in Bermuda & our excursion didn't leave until the afternoon. If you're going to have a pool for 3-4,000 people you might want more than 1 (unless you pay an upgrade to use the Haven's pool) or at least a bigger one.

Entertainment

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Everyone, except guest services were great. We had a terrible time with guest services, in fact there was NO service. 1. We purchased transfers & the guy who took us to the ship didn't know what he was doing plus he tried to get us to pay for it again even though we showed him the vouchers. When I explained this to guest services the guy seem unconcerned & in a hurry to get to the next person in line. 2. Because we purchased transfers, we had to be one of the 1st groups to disembark, even though we explained that we had a late flight a would rather get off later. We were told they only had 1 shuttle, which I explained that I found that hard to believe.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
EXCEPT the pool design - too small.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Great, except balcony was a little too small.

Ports of call

New York, New York Did not visit port

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

3 out of 5
The best excursion was the "resort for a day" at elbow beach.

OK.... NCL.com has the Breakaway always leaving at 3pm. . maybe your itinerary was different (but even ShipMate has your history and the ship leaving at 3pm).... no big deal just curious when you said you left early

slobrian    7 years ago

Ok, but the itinerary says 4pm

esm54687    7 years ago

OK, that's the Breakaway's normal departure time..... 3pm so you left on time

slobrian    7 years ago

No, we were told to be back on the ship by 2:30 & I guess everyone complied, so left about 3pm

Was it weather related (why you left)?
