Review summary

Not our first time on the Breakaway, so we already had ideas of what we wanted to do on the ship and what we wanted to avoid. The crew onboard make all the difference between a good trip and a great trip and this was a GREAT trip. I love so much about this ship and this itinerary, my only two issues with the whole experience is this: The smell of smoke from the casino permeates the casino and the area's around it- above and below- yuck! I bring my family on cruises too so in no way is this a slight on families, but it would be nice if either Taste or Savor were kids 10+ or something like that. 4 nights at dinner (one a specialty restaurant) we were placed next to screaming children with parents that did not do anything about their screaming children running around like it was the Hunger Games. I have 3 kids, i understand, I truly understand, but parents deserve a vacation too sometimes so it would have been nice to go to restaurant and not be surrounded by children running around, crying, and bumping into the hardworking waitstaff.

Other then that, we loved every minute. Great shows, great bartenders, our stewed was sweet as can be- we already booked the next cruise and we've only been home 4 days.

screaming children and not enough chocolate mousse!! How about one dining room dedicated to adults or at least children 10+?

Ship Quality

One plug in the whole room- no where near the bed??? worst design ever. Absolutely LOVE the rest of the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

restating from the above ship quality statement because it's THAT important: One plug in the whole room- no where near the bed??? worst design ever. Absolutely LOVE the rest of the ship.

Ship tip

Eggs Benedict is at the very front of the buffet, so delish!

I think that parent who forgets they are parents are people who in general don't give a damn. I see this all the time on a playground. They say you can't give your children what you don't have including good manners.

Also, parents assume that because they are on a ship that their kids will be safe. I have never heard of it happening, but have you ever wondered about something happening to a kid who is vulnerable? Im not about to give specifics but just think about. We all worry about our kids when they go out yet some parents assume because you are on a ship that nothing could happen. Just my thoughts.

I read an article describing the different types of people you will likely encounter in cruises, one of them was the parent who " forgets they are a parent the moment they board the ship" (even though their small children are with them)😂😂 Reading your review reminded me of that. I personally could never imagine allowing my children to run wild to the point they are disruptive, but sadly, it happens. It's obnoxious!

This is a big problem with parents who let their kids run wild. Whether in the dining areas, the hallways, pool area or any where else. Yes, we all want to relax while on vacation, but others also are on vacation and shouldn't have to be dodging kids who have parents with no manners nor common sense. Put the kids in the provided camp and then relax. You may think your kids are safe on board, but unless they are old enough to know better they shouldnt be wandering around the ship.
