Review summary

I am an active cruiser and this was my first time I cruised with NCL. I was not impressed by the staff, service, food, entertainment or ship!

If you want left-overs, same music, no toilet paper, rude staff and cheap liquour than this is the cruise for you!.

The shows look like high school plays. The dueling piano had no chemistry.

Service and Staff

Staff was not friendly. My stateroom housekeeper was always miserable. The wait staff in the restaurant was not friendly. They didnt even take proper orders from management. Guest service needs a lesson in customer service.

I would recommend spending a little more money and taking another cruise line. Even loyal NCL were not impressed with the service or the ship.

Scarlets mummy I was on the same cruise and didn't experience any of that we had a great cruise As for breakfast there is the Irish pub, medero, and the 2 smaller dining room stagger their breakfast times in addition to the buffet love the breakaway going may 14th to Bermuda it will be our 4th time on the breakaway 3rd time to Bermuda we have cruise on other ncl ship and have always had a great time

We cruised the Breakaway for a 14 day Southern Caribbean cruise last November. Its was dreadful our worst cruise experience . The Breakaway is too big and cannot cope particularly if the ship is full ( as ours was) The main restaurants service was laughable and not once did we manage to get a Breakfast that was hot when it reached the table in the whole 2 weeks. The only other option was the Buffet which is not what i want on a Cruise its just a fast food outlet and i prefer to sit and relax over my meals . In the 2 weeks we were on board we only went into dinner on 1 occasion and that was a disaster ( my Birthday ). I have cruised with NCL since on the NCL Jewel a beautiful ship and 1,000% better than the Breakaway and we also have 2 cruises booked on the NCL Jade . I would not set foot on the Breakaway again if they gave me a free cruise.

marissa: I LOVE the fact you focused on the liquor!!! Cracked me up!!! Person who definitely has priorities. Yes, the liquor is brand name and ranges from basic to premium.

It really is all about attitude. You can make anything you want out of this ship. If you want to have a good time and can let the small stuff roll off your back, you'll have a great vacation.

Your gotta have the right attitude like thutch92 said. We're out in July. I've read alot of reviews on here about NCL. I guess it's your own personal preference. You have a right to critique and nick pick. But as for me, a 7 day cruise with a balcony cabin, food of my choice and all the liquor i can drink till i pass out is better than getting up at 5am every morning to drive a dagone tractor trailer in traffic all day!!! So I'm looking forward to the massive size Norwegian Breakaway from the daily grind! I can't wait!!!!!

Not every ship is for everyone. 10 years ago most cruise line ship were all basically similar just different decor and minor amenities. Now days there are vast differences in size, features, food and so much more. That's a good thing but the trick is finding the right ship for you.

Well I'm still looking forward to it...it's hard to understand reviews of people on the same exact cruise who rave about how awesome it is to the people who hate everything....I guess it all comes down to attitude, only way to explain it!!!

Sorry u had such a poor experience. I have sailed NCL like 18 times and it can vary from ship to ship. I have also cruised with Princess and Carnival and have had good and bad. Getting ready to try Celebrity. Ships are like hotels, u have some good and some awful. I try to make best of vaca from work.
