Review summary

Cruise was not good as cruise line made decisions that were not in the best interest of the passengers. The cruise promised three days in Bermuda but due to weather problems we traveled to Port Canaveral Florida and Nassau Bahamas. Neither port was comparable to Bermuda and the visit including both ports was 15 hours total compared to the promised 3 days in Bermuda. The NCL provided $200 shipboard credit per cabin compensation which was woefully inadequate. Since the $200 per cabin credit must be spend on the ship coupled with the NCL savings from not paying the Bermuda tourist tax it appears that NCL gave very little in compensation back to the passengers. Also NCL should have given passengers the option of opting out of the cruise after announcing in New York City that that there would be no cruise to Bermuda with no information on the alternate ports until the next day while the ship was still at the NYC pier. The announcements should have stated that passengers could opt out, outlined the financial considerations for doing so and the debarkation procedures. None of that was done and I felt like I was held captive going to places that I did not want to go. In light of this, I am requesting adequate compensation so that sometime in the future I will be able to enjoy the cruise that I paid good money for and did not receive.

NCL made the ultimate call as to the ports BA would call upon, not the captain in this case. Semantics, I know. The captain mentioned that in his tardy PA address after all passengers had boarded the ship thinking all was good.

Believe me everyone sent letters to ncl home office. . And it's not the point of changing ports, is how they did it n if u were not on the ship with us , u would not understand what happened. When u r in the same scenario than you can all comment. .u have people that have cruised allot and can't believe how ncl handled this. .

Well I assume this person would also be the 1st to cry and complain bc the captain sailed them right into a hurricane and ruined their vaca if they stuck to original itinerary. Part of cruising in hurricane season. May not have been Bermuda as you booked, but at least you didn't end up on a cruise to nowhere or Canada. Take what you got and be thankful that your captain made a safe decision for the crew, ship and passenger's. And also keep in mind as you were on a floating resort safely at a port of call, many people in the islands were fighting to survive while you had food at your disposal, soft bed and shower. Not having to worry if you're house was going to flood away. Be thankful you have your life because the captain made a sound decision to reroute the cruise.

Not sailing into a hurricane was a decision not in the best interest of the passengers?

Might want to send this to the cruiseline. They will never see your complaint on here.
