Thanksgiving cruise

Sail Date: November 23, 2014

Room Type: Inside

Being an experienced cruise traveler, I was traveling with my wife and two sons ages 16 and 13. Overall this was a nice cruise.  The ship was spacious and well laid out.  The cabins while small were compact and comfortable.  The food was good.  The specialty restaurants were excellent.  The entertainment was good.  The only negative was the pool deck was small and overcrowded and the ship had no indoor pool.  Traveling from New York at Thanksgiving and in the winter months the ship should have an indoor pool or retractable roof over the pool area.  It seems like they used all the space on the pool deck for the haven suites.  The casino was in an open area and the smoke from the casino would reach other areas of the ship.  We loved the waterfront.  It was nice and peaceful to sit out and look over the ocean.  I would recommend this ship. The private island was nice and Nassau is always enjoyable.  The ship got into Florida late and all the shore excursions were canceled.  If you don't do a shore excursion in Florida there is really nothing to do because the ship docks far from everything. It is always good to leave from Manhattan and sail past the Statue of Liberty and under the Verrazano Bridge.

Ship Quality
Well laid out and spacious. Very clean.
Food and Dining
Specialty restaurants were excellent. Dining rooms that were included were good but unless you got there at 5:30 pm very crowded and you hard to wait to be seated.
Cabin / Stateroom
Small but compact and comfortable. Cabin stewart always had the room clean and neat.
Service and Staff
Everybody was courteous and respectful and went out of their way to accommodate you.
Entertainment
Burn the Floor and Rock of Ages was terrific, however, the other variety shows were just okay.
Children's Programs Did not use.
Onboard Activities
Atrium could have been bigger. Always crowded and chairs were had to come by.
Destinations and Excursions
Private Island and Nassau are always good, however, got to Florida late and all the excursions were canceled. So not much to do there.
New York, New York
Can't beat sailing out of the big apple, past the Statue of Liberty and under the Verrazano Bridge.
Port Canaveral, Florida
Got there late so all shore excursions were canceled. Not much to do if no excursions.
Great Stirrup Cay (Cruiseline Private Island), Bahamas
Beautiful weather and a nice relaxing day at the beach with lunch included.
Nassau, Bahamas
Always enjoyable. Went to the beach with family and enjoyed the day.

Tip

Overall I would recommend this cruise.
