Review summary

First, let me say that the ship, being less than a year old was in excellent condition and most of the mechanical things aboard worked as they should. Also on the good side, magician Michael Finney entertained us several times and even gave a free Q&A session. (However, I must say that if Norwegian Cruise Lines were interested in entertaining the guests, they would turn on the large monitors in the 'Theater' so those in back could see his incredible effects and the reactions on the faces of the members of the audience who were brought on stage. Not doing so is pretty cheesy.

The room steward, and a majority of the staff were polite and efficient, but overworked in general as the ship teemed with passengers. If you are at all claustrophobic, avoid this ship. The other issue is the constant marketing of everything. If you fell overboard, I'd not be surprised if they wanted to swipe your credit card before throwing you a life preserver. On night in Ocean Blue, a premium dining room, the waiter had time to top off the wine glasses and ask if anyone wanted to buy another bottle, while my empty water glass waited until I asked twice for a refill. I am also curious why buying a glass of wine from an automated dispenser should be subject to an 18% service charge?!? Mercenary does not begin to explain it. One of the high points was that the weather prevented us from being released into the external mall owned by the cruise line: 'Grand Stirrup Cay'...they even go so far as to warn against actually making a purchase from locals...pityful!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Mostly the food was good, the Brazilian Steakhouse had great food, however several prime eating places were located adjacent to the casino, and hence were redolent of tobacco.

Entertainment

Schlock, except for the Comedy Magician Michael Finney.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Photographers were rude and pushy, even after asking them to refrain until we had finished our appetizers...

LIke being in prison with your credit card.

Nassau, Bahamas

Too much tourist crap between town and the ship. They force you to navigate a mall to get back to the ship, despite there being many walkways that would circumnavigate this ordeal.
