Got off cruise 10/20/18. Great... by ShutUpHeather

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Got off cruise 10/20/18. Great big shop! Emasculate and shiny new. Very friendly staff. I engaged many in conversation and they were eager to chat and share. Getting in the ship in LA was crazy. But not fault of NCL. LA just not accustomed to so many passengers arriving at the port. Got into our room within 5 minutes of boarding the ship. Getting off the ship wasn’t as bad as I anticipated. Walked out of our cabin at 8:55, was in a moving line for 12 mins, got into terminal and found a porter. We were though customs and outside by 9:25. The porter was a must. Line was insane to get through customs. Our cabin was in a great area of the ship. We did the price where NCL picks the room for you, so we were pleasantly surprised with our location. Quiet and away from common areas. Close enough to middle elevators are nearer the bow. We had cabin 13732. Food was just so so. Maybe we are spoiled in LA, but food was just okay...no prime rib accept in the buffet (I don’t want to eat my dinners at a buffet...). Main dining rooms had almost identical menus and they never changed accept for maybe 1-2 appetizers and 1-2 entrees. Specialty restaurants weren’t very impressive. Decor was nice, but several had the exact same food! Same soups & salads. Ordered Lobster bisque at Cagney’s and Le Bistro and they were the exact same recipe. Same with the French Onion. Bummer for sure. Best food in my opinion was in the Garden Buffet! Didn’t eat at pub except for one egg breakfast. Nothing special. Havana was a good show if you appreciate dancing. Story was weak & didn’t make sense to me. Didn’t do Jersey boys. Internet was crap! Kept overcharging (we did the per minute) even when we weren’t logged on. Went to the Internet cafe to try to solve problems 4 times! Simon was helpful but they need more than one person there to address issues. Line went through the lobby and took forever! Spent many days by the pool. Water slide was fun! The adult pool (Main pool) is horrible! Very deep and you have to hold on to the side to just wade in it. About 50-60 people would cram around the sides and out there feet in, and others would try to find a space while in the pool to hold onto. Stupid design and not designed for a large crowd of passengers. Lots of lunge chairs. Never had a problem. Plenty in the shade too. Waiters were plentiful. Fun DJ in afternoon and different bands throughout the day. Hot tubs full of kids. We didn’t partake in any dance parties at night on deck. Had to be up too early. Tips: Use back elevators for sure! No need to do dining package unless you like bland food, IMO. Beers were $8.20! Didn’t do package due to being with my daughter and not wanting to drink much. Good idea if you drink all day. You can bring buffet food by the pool! :) so much to do, not enough time. Canceled go carts and tag due to dinner reservations so can’t comment. Casino is just ok. Not enough tables, and high minimums. Very relaxing cruise! Amazing ship.

Great Family Vacation! by NeidocaCarioca

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

This was my second cruise and I can only compared to my first one at the Escape. Even thou the Bliss was a brand new ship, the crew at the Escape was with a greater energy and super friendlier . Will I cruise again with Norwegian that is a total Yes! Bliss was good, I had lots of fun , the restaurant Los Lobos & La Cucina were excellent , the BBQ not so great...Havana Show was ok, Jersey Boys were excellent! The bartenders were great!! The merchandise deals wasn’t as great. I really will try the Bliss again as I didn’t get to go on the laser rag & cart race with my grandkids

The Observation Lounge was the high light of the ship. NCL did a great job with the design and plenty of room for all.

3번째의 멕시코 리베라 크루즈 다른게 있다는... by minheelee

Sail date: /

Great Ship by cathysiewert

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

The ship is beautiful. Clean and comfy. There are 4000+ people on board. Public spaces are crowded. The elevators are S L O W. Food is tasty and plentiful. The Casino is very tight. The Q is the bomb! The cabins are narrow but you really don't stay in your cabin for too long of a period. Very smooth sailing even at the bow and aft. The observation deck is THE best place to relax. Self debarkation was slow but organized.

Blissfulness on NCL Bliss by lilj247

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

This was an enjoyable cruise very relaxing. We did not get a chance to play laser tag or drive the racecars because I was so busy relaxing and the thermal spa. We have already book again on NCL Bliss in 2019. I have to see Alaska from the observation lounge .

Disappointed! by bebberjean

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

We enjoyed our cruise but felt NCL had tightened up on most everything there. So many things were an up charge. We felt they were trying to push us toward the buffet or special dining. Wondering if they are trying to remove the free dining rooms!?!?

Loved the ship. It was... by SoCalCruiser1

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Loved the ship. It was about time the west coast had a new mega ship in LA. We were on the 8 day Mexican Riviera Cruise. The food was excellent and the staff was wonderful. We did not have one negative experience. We made all our reservations prior to cruising therefore we did not experience being turned away. The trick is to make reservations prior to the cruise. For the shows and restaurants. Our inside cabin was smaller than on the Escape or Getaway. We only were in the cabin to sleep so no big deal. It was a great casino set up. They caged up all the smokers behind glass.

Mixed feelings by jetlag4u

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

I don’t care for how NCL is pushing more and more to buy more and more especially food. I didn’t spend all that money to go on a cruise to buy food. It’s becoming very tacky

NCL Bliss - beautiful new... by sealion85139

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

NCL Bliss - beautiful new ship, AFT Balcony 9322, state room was a bit cramped, very little walking space around bed, balcony large 100 square foot. Specialty restaurants all excellant, including main dining rooms. Preferred Savor. Garden Cafe, very large, lots of seating, very large food selection, food quality was fair to good. Meat and Fish served over cooked and dried out,hot dogs served cold every single night. they close dessert bar to early 10:00 PM Their is no lobster or lobster tails, or shrimp cocktail. Havana was not worth the $35.00 per / up charge. Crew was excellant, always smiling, did amazing job.

Blissful! by JenJenny

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

This ship is a floating city. At first we were a bit worried about being on a ship with 4000 guests for 5 days, but we never experienced any crowded conditions beyond the normal and expected, such as on the last morning before disembarking while getting breakfast at the Garden Cafe. The complementary entertainment was excellent, the service was beyond anything we had known before, the food was outstanding (we had a gluten free vegetarian and also a lactose intolerant in our party and none of us had to settle for anything, all were very happy with our food). The ship is beautifully designed and absolutely gorgeous. Whoever thought of the Waterfront walk is a genius, it was definitely a highlight. Our party consisted of experienced cruisers and a first time cruiser, we were all new to Norwegian and all of us were just bowled over by our experience. My opinion is that anyone who wasn't happy on this cruise wasn't an experienced cruiser and maybe didn't have realistic expectations to start with.

What a ship! by rayman61

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

Redemption for NCL. After an underwhelming cruise on the Breakaway, my wife and I were at the crossroads with Norwegian. This cruise was going to be the decider on whether we would vacation with them again. Well NCL, you can thank the Bliss. What a beautiful ship! No compaints other than booking the specialty resaturants. Great service, great food, great experience.

Fantastic Redepositing Cruise by medijunk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

The cruise was great. We had the Spa mini suite. The balcony was bigger than any balcony we've ever had. We could have gotten a third chair on it. The only gripes we had was: Could hear the lounge chairs from our cabin. To me it sounded like distant thunder. It didn't bother my son and I at all. My wife it bothered a bit. Good thing it wasn't right above us. In Taste restaurant. The far back corner bench seat tipped. My son felt like if I got up to fast he would go over. In the theater, the seats felt like they dipped to far forward. Also had a feeling I was going to slide off the seat. The cruise was awesome. The crew were great. I do know about the issue in San Francisco and getting back on the ship. It took almost 7 hours for US customs to clear the ship. I heard many people complain about that and even the captain addressed the ship about it too. But you can't blame the ship for US Customs.
