We have sailed Norwegian one other time and feel that other cruise lines have much prettier ships and the food is better. However, for the price we paid, it was a nice getaway and the 3 ports and 3 sea days were an excellent mix.
Embarkation

A bit confusing when driving ourselves to the port. We followed the Norwegian port address to Berth 92 and should have dropped off luggage prior to getting to that point.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Excellent specialty dining. Decent menu and food in complimentary dining.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Our friends enjoyed the casino. I used stairs for my exercise program so - fun people watching. Our group is seniors so, not a lot of intense activities.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The Jersey boys was great. The Beatles show was good. Comedians were ok. Norwegian does not have fabulous shows every night like some cruise lines. Mediocre entertainment.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Our cabin steward was not friendly and often waited until we were at dinner to clean our room. Leaving towels and dishes from early morning is not the way I live at home and I cannot believe it is an acceptable standard with Norwegian. Wait staff and others were friendly and helpful.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Everything was clean but it was one of the less appointed ships I have cruised on. The stairway and atrium chandelier were the only memorable glitzy on the ship. All other areas were carefully coordinated but nothing memorable.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The cabin was very bland. The layout was terrible. Beds right up to the sliding door and the couch was in the front of the room. The picture of the room number we booked showed our cabin number had, as you would expect, the bed at the front and the seating by the door. The bathroom was standard for a ship and the shower was very nice - I like the glass shower not taking up visual space. It always astounds me how much storage is available in such a small area!
Ship tip
Huge ship that has 4,000+ passengers. Be prepared to get a service charge tacked on to just about everything even if room service charges are paid in advance.
We didn’t booked in time to do a tour through the ship - our fault! A local took us around and it was not the best experience but, the natural beauty of Mexico and the ocean is always spectacular!!
Marvelous ship sponsored tour to Mona Lisa Restaurant, a fabulous glass blowing shop and San Jose del Cabo. Very beautiful but traffic in Cabo is heavy!
I think you paid gratuities in advance. If you had beverage or restaurant packages, you had to pay gratuties for them during booking. Otherwise, you pay those fees as you order. That's how it's done on every cruise line.
You cannot pay room service charges in advance. Service fees(flat rate) are added to room service orders but unlike Carnival which charges per item, a $11.99 charge including tip is not outrageous for the unlimited amount of food that you can have delivered to your cabin.
