Review summary

REALLY love NCL - 5 time cruiser. The race track and water slides were a blast!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was so quick and smooth! Rider app signage could be more clear - our driver followed his navapp and dropped us off well past luggage check in.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate at Cagney's and Teppanyaki - both great food and service. Savor, Taste, and Manhattan never fail to satisfy. The Local served up great food, quickly. The buffet was good, but as expected, always crowded at peak meal times. Try to work around the peak times for a more relaxed meal.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pools were great - heated, which helped since we sailed in Feb. Tough to find chairs, but that can be expected - especially during peak hours on sea days.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Live music EVERYWHERE! Great bands, covering all genres. Jersey Boy's and SIX did not disappoint - really talented performers! Sound system could use upgrading of fine tuning.

Children's Programs

Not travelling with children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Top notch! Our room steward (Aqus) found out it was my wife's birthday and decorated our cabin while we were out. So thoughtful! All the wait staff were polite, courteous, and highly trained in delivering excellent customer service.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Always clean. I appreciate the 'fish-forward' carpet design! It helps orientation below decks.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Perfect fit for two travelers! Balcony was roomy enough. The spa shower feature (6 jets plus the overhead wand) was a nice surprise! The toilet was positioned at an odd angle for long legged people, but that's all I can really 'nitpick'.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

It's LA. Enough said.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Clean port area. Easy transportation to outlying areas. We went to the Malecon for a few hours, then visited Bucerias. Loved having lunch on the beach at Adriano's. Sipping cold drinks, swimming, and snacking during our time there. GREAT service, excellent prices! Be aware of the vendors, though. They walked off with my sunglasses!

Mazatlan, Mexico

Excursion to Stone Island Beach Getaway. Nice, flat, sandy beach. We really had fun on the banana boat ride. Included food was really good. Drinks weren't too strong, but bartenders can adjust their pours based on your tolerance. Would highly recommend!

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

REALLY impressive port. Lots to see and do, even though the time in port was really short. We didn't do an excursion through NCL. We found a great deal through talking with locals. For $12pp, we hopped in a glass bottom boat, were taken past the beaches and coves in the bay, upclose to Neptune's Finger, fed some fish, looked through the crevasse in the cliff between Sea of Cortes and Pacific Ocean, got great pics of the arch and then spent a few minutes around the tip to the Pacific. About an hour, great experience, really good value!

Disembarkation

We chose to take our luggage off ourselves this time. Seemed like a MUCH easier process than tagging bags the night before, having to ensure we had what we needed for the last night and morning, then combining all of those items into our luggage before flying home. I would probably self-exit again.
