Not our favorite. We have done this cruise 5 times and this one by NCL was not our favorite. We have done many other cruise lines and we have never been in such a disorganized departure as this one. As well as the boarding and tendering process in Cobo.

Review summary

We have been on other cruise lines and we have been on NCL a few times before. This cruise was ok. Some things were great and others were not

Embarkation

2 out of 5
We were thankfully gold status which gave us a separate line once inside. But the lines were ridiculous up until that point.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The food was ok. Nothing to really brag about. The best food we had was in Tepenyaki. Johnathan was our chef and he was literally the best part of our whole cruise.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The show Jersey Boys was very good. We enjoyed watching them and the actors did a great job

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Unfortunately we have had way better. We have cruised a lot and maybe our expectations are a little higher than some. That being said we never had anyone go above and beyond.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
It was clean and well kept. Nothing was broken or damaged

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
For being a junior suit it was just ok. The best part was the larger bathroom with double sinks. Our overall experience was just ok on the Bliss

Ship tip

Don’t book an early flight. And don’t have to high of expectations

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

1 out of 5
Our port was way too short for the tender Process. The early arrival of 6:30am and departure of 1:30 was not enough time to really enjoy our day.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

Mazatlan, Mexico

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
The absolute biggest joke we have ever been a part of. We had an early flight so we chose to carry our luggage off ourselves. Which has never been an issue in other cruises we have been on. The line was ridiculous and no one could move. The elevator area was so jammed up that no one could get on or off on the level of departure.

I always look at the port times in itinerary before booking.

The Bliss was our least favourite NCL ship in terms of atmosphere but still really enjoyed it. What we found with disembarkation was, no matter how many times they were asked not to, people went to wait in the area we were getting off at until their colour was called, which caused a huge bottleneck and held up the people currently trying to get off. It was just chaos for a while, but largely down to the fact people wouldn’t listen. Hope your future cruises are better

How. Hope your next cruise is better and that you made your flight. We always do the walk off too… generally easy
