Very crowded port in San Pedro with very limited seating.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Drinks were good, but wish they had a more organized system to order drinks rather than huddling around seated people, hoping the bartender remembers who is next in line. They should offer bars that allow seating, so you can quickly order your drink a leave without crowding around other people and so that people cannot cut in line. The food was pretty good. Except we were really disappointed by Cagney's Steak house. We went to the one of Prima and loved it, but the service was very slow and the steaks came out room temperature. We really liked the buffets and Food Republic.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We loved the water slide, playing ping pong, gambling and relaxing at the pool. The pool was nice until the bands showed up where they would absolutely destroy your ear drums with extremely loud music at like 2 PM. You could move towards the back of the boat, but would lose pool views. Who wants to hear loud music when you are trying to relax by the pool? I am ok with music, but it should not be blaring as if you are at a night club. We also participated in the slot tournament. We pre-registered, but the line to check in was 30 minutes, then waited an hour for my turn to play. The host kept leaving between rounds which caused delays. I wasted so much time doing this activity that I wish was better organized.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The music was good, just wish the live music by the pool was not so loud. We saw SIX and by far, this was the best thing about the cruise. I was blown away by these ladies singing and dancing. Each woman had amazing talent and I tip my hat to the dedication and practice these women clearly demonstrated.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We loved our servers, bartenders and room keeper.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was very clean and beautiful.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was quiet, cozy and well air conditioned. Only complaint, which I know was our of the cruise's management control, but we had a next door neighbor who smoked a cigarette about every hour on his deck although the cruise bans smoking on private balconies. He had a very loud, disgusting, throat-clearing cough too. Yes, we could have reported him, but we just let it go.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

4 out of 5
We didn't know there were tender boats to get you to the town. They were a bit slow, but not too bad.

Ensenada, Mexico

4 out of 5
Not a whole lot of excursion options that seemed interesting to us, but a it was a nice quiet town to walk around and shop in.

Lots of good details in your review! Yep the pool music was too loud on my last sailing too -- I usually decided to go aft to Spice H²O instead. There's music but it's not crazy. No pool at Spice H²O but you can gaze at the ocean off the back of the ship, and that bar is less crowded than the main pool bars anyway.

Definitely should have notified guest services about your smoking neighbor. It’s a safety hazard in addition to being annoying.

Thanks for the review! As a smoker, myself, I would have definitely dropped a dime on your rule-breaking neighbor. Letting that kind of stuff slide just brings us all that much closer to the cruise lines instituting smoke-free ships. It's bad enough that smokers currently have to squeeze into what is essentially a cage; folks like this are the reason that the militant anti-smokers say that having 99% of the ship smoke-free isn't enough.
