Review summary

Bliss is a great ship, staff was just ok except in the buffet where they were above and beyond. Tons of activities. As with any cruise, bring your patience and embrace the corny.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
From the time we pulled up to the port to the time we were on the ship was less than 30 minutes. We arrived at 11:00 am.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Specialty restaurant was Great LeBistro. The main dining rooms were just ok. The buffet was actually better than expected! The F&B Director was very engaged in the buffet area, talking to guests, helping the staff and very friendly. My wife would like to see a few more gluten free bread items on the buffet.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Go karts, dance parties, trivia, karaoke, pool time were all a blast! We did not do many of the other activities offered simply because we ran out of time.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Check out the Cavern Club. The Beatles cover group did a great job. The lead guitar player has some serious skills!!

Bliss Theater

5 out of 5

Jersey Boys was outstanding!

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Overall staff was fine. The staff in the buffet area was Outstanding. This was clearly due to the leadership of the assistant F&B Director that I mentioned earlier. Staff in the other areas of the ship were ok not great.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Great flow, loved the waterfront. Everything was clean and well kept. The hot tubs on the back of the ship were down all week but I found out why. Some of the pipes broke due to freezing when they relocated from Alaska down to Los Angeles.

Ship tip

Pay attention to or call and ask if your ports are docked or tendered. On tender ports it takes extra time to get on and off the ship. We had an 8 hour stop in Cabo but it was really only 4 hours given the time it took to get off and on the ship.

Ports of call

Ensenada, Mexico

4 out of 5
Easy to get off and on the ship. Easy to get a bus into town. Did a local excursion to LaBoufadora, tacos and shopping 20 bucks!! Ensenada itself is still very rundown and sad. Tacos were amazing though!

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

3 out of 5
If you book an excursion through NCL you will get an earlier tender time. We did not do that and it took us almost 3 hours to get off the ship. Once at Cabo we had a blast!

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

5 out of 5
Easy to get on the ship at this port.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy breezy.
