Great cruise overall! Food was generally good and the entertainment and service were outstanding.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
It was quite crowded and somewhat disorganized, but crowds did move quickly onto the ship
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The buffet was much better than I expected. The carving station had short ribs off the bone and flank steak which was very tender. Omelette s made to order were delicious as were some of the specialty salads. Pizza looked lack luster so I didn't try it. Delicious homemade hummus and baba ghanoush. Cagney specialty restaurant was outstanding in every way possible. Los Lobos was a huge disappointment as the food was bland and lukewarm. Nachos were very plain and the chile Rellano looked good, but again was so lukewarm the cheese inside wasn't even melted. Don't bother with this venue, you can get better Mexican food at a taqueria at home. The barbecue restaurant named Q was very good. The meat was tender and the fried green tomatoes appetizer was unique and delicious, as was the banana pudding for dessert. Main dining room was hit or miss. Lunch was not so hot, literally, but the rotisserie chicken off the classic entree menu was really good, as were most of the appetizers and the goat cheese salad that I had. Overall, I would give the food a 7 out of 10.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
They had some really fun games on board backed by great video technology!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
I really enjoyed the Latin group called E-Duo, and the staged musicals Six and Jersey boys were outstanding
Children's Programs
I don't have children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Service, all over the ship, was polite, friendly, efficient and overall outstanding.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was spotless and well maintained. I like the modern decor. The only complaint regarding layout that I have is the buffet configuration. Very confusing and maze-like. Appears to go around in a big square and you never really know what station you're at until you're right on it.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
I chose an inside cabin because I was cruising solo. It was very comfortable and clean, but the television was way too small to be seen very well by my bed. Also, there was no chair with a back in the room, just a stool.
