Review summary

PROS: Great ship, great service, great stage shows, great food inc Specia;ty restaurants. CONS: Children all over the place at all times of the day and night. In all the bars, even after 10 PM. Wheelchairs seem to have almost vanished, only to be replaced by strollers everywhere.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Compared to a recent trip on Anthem, it was bad. Long lines, seemingly no connection to required appointment times.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Very enjoyable. Le Bistro #1 for ambience and service, and equality with Cagney for food.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Loved the observation deck for reading, relaxing. Too cold and rainy for much sunbathing. The shows were all much better than Anthem.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Extremely good stage shows. The shows in the Atrium were wonderful. The Observation Deck piano player/singer was ill for most of the trip, so that was a bummer for us.

Children's Programs

We did not have any children with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
A throw back to the "old days" when service was extraordinary. Head and shoulders above Anthem. My wife had slightly twisted her knee. When she mentioned this to a waiter on the Observation Deck, he told his supervisor and she brought her an icepack.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Makes great use of available room. Spotlessly clean. Easy to get around the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Too narrow. Have no room between bottom of bed and wall. Its a squeeze to get through the balcony. The bed is short. I am 5'10" and my feet extended over the bottom of the bed. Very clean. Our Cabin Steward was super.

Ship tip

Enjoy the diversity of activities.

Ports of call

New York, New York Did not visit port

We lived in NY. Nothing we needed to see.

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

Not close enough to anything.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas Did not visit port

Nassau, Bahamas

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
A Disney like line, far too lengthy for people in their 70s (us). Need to have a separate line for seniors, not group them with children and older.

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

With the greatest respect, why would you consider a cruise on a "family ship" that has water slides, laser tag and go karts on board and not expect Children. I suggest you look at P&O for your next cruise.
