Review summary

Dont go if you want to truly experience the islands. If you like a rum punch and port shopping and eating and drinking your capacities...maybe its for you...but saving the sales tax on duty free things at port isnt a draw unless you can only afford those items if the tax is excluded. Low end degrading pool activities (think older and not fit people strip dancing at the pool in a contest to win free tshirts). Basically you just eat and drink (I can do that at home). They have full control over you when you walk on that ship. Oh, want water?...yep, thats not included, they sell a "water package", seriously?

Embarkation

Smooth

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Lots of options, all the decent to good ones upcharge. Their "nominal extra fee" is full price charge, not "nominal" upcharge, misleading

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Non eventful after day 2.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Relic style "Jersey Boys" show? Really? Maybe a B rate comedy club? Outdated. Spa massage C quality and A price.

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
Basic. All the fun items (IE- racetrack) sell out for the week immediately.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Nice people, they are just following the boat masterfully designed procedures to maximize sales and upcharges, not their fault...plan on way more money than the trip costs in extras. Its a racket.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Nice new ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

Underwater coffin, no natural light, small. Imagine having a cocktail upstairs then going back to a dungeon on a pitching and rolling ship with no concept of time, feeling of sickness sets in quick. Room shouldnt be sellable. Walked off cruise mid trip in Tortola, first cruise and last cruise ever taken.

Ship tip

Surprise add on charges for everything despite being "all inclusive", IE- want wifi- thats $307/week. Cattle call activities and food for the masses. Dont go to health center, their "nominal fee" for basic health was $1,001 upcharge...sad they found a profit center for guests not feeling well....which was driven by the coffin like room. Was told halucinations and not feeling weel are normal, employee even said " how do you think we feel being stuck on the ship for 6 months!" Enough said.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

1 out of 5
Cattle call excursion for the masses, cant say we saw "St Thomas"...unless you consider being overly packed shoulder to shoulder in a catamaran for about 45 minutes in the water....rum punch and beyonce on the boat arent too authentic to the area but at least people can say "we sent to St. Thomas".

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

We got off cruise here and stayed for several days, best move of the trip. Amazing place and people.

A couple of persons making unhappy reviews didn't even sound like they had been on the cruise. I think if someone could actually feel and complain of the movement on a ship the size of the Bliss might not be ideally suited for taking cruises. They obviously needed to do a lot more research before committing that type of money.

Sounds like cruising isn't for you (understatement of the year?), and since you abandoned your cruise mid-stream, you probably won't be allowed to try it again anyway. Have you never planned any kind of vacation before? It truly sounds like you had no clue what you were doing.

You need to study what is included in the price you are paying. It clearly states all of those items on their website. You chose the cabin you had. You get what you pay for.

We sailed on this ship during the same time and it had an amazing experience. This was our 12th cruise and our ninth with our kids. The kids had an absolute blast we found the food to be very good compared to Royal Caribbean and carnival and our room was very well lit. When doing excursions on the islands you’re much better off to do things on your own because the one spot to the ship are very expensive and usually very crowded. I feel like if you couldn’t find something to do maybe you weren’t looking hard enough because there was a ton of stuff to do every day on the ship. There Was also the option of going to the spa pool for an up charge where you wouldn’t have to deal with everything at the main pool but again that was an up charge. We have been to all inclusive so many times, traveled the United States on personal vacations many times, and done many cruises. We like all of them for different reasons but I really found this ship to be impressive

If you got off the ship and stayed dont be suprised to see a hefty fine for you actions. Check out Jones law. Sounds like a cruise was not for you.

It’s impossible to get any natural light when you purposely book an inside cabin on a lower deck. But if you booked an ocean view or balcony state room you might have enjoyed your cruise a bit more.

People like you shouldn't cruise. You picked your cabin and you chose your excursions. Tap water is free why expect tap water for free . All that you moan about would have been known if you researched your cruise prior to booking. Please go to resorts in future .
