Review summary

This was our first time on Norwegian. We have cruised 3 other lines but thought we'd give Norwegian a try. The ship was narrower than other ships we have been on so we did feel the motion of it, with one night being very rough for about 2 1/2 hours. I did enjoy all the activities that were offered and really enjoyed having the first few days on ship before arriving at a port to really investigate the ship. This ship is meant for an Alaskan cruise not Caribbean as there was not enough outside seating at the pool or in the hot tubs. Not sure I would choose this line again.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarking was seamless and very smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food and drinks in main dining, specialty restaurants and buffets were great. I didn't have one bad meal.

The Observation Lounge

4 out of 5

Absolutely beautiful however there were many campers that never vacated to give others a chance to sit and take in the views.

The Local Bar & Grill

4 out of 5

Great option for a quick bite in the middle of the ship where you can also participate in any of the Atrium activities. We ate here several times for an afternoon snack in place of lunch.

The A-List Bar

5 out of 5

The bartender her was amazing. She was mixing many drinks at one time and moving like lighting.

Teppanyaki

4 out of 5

Very entertaining and fun. Way to much food so go there hungry.

Sugarcane Mojito Bar

4 out of 5

I had never had a Mojito I liked before but I gave it another try and the Raspberry Mojito was excellent. Very refreshing and delicious!

Q Texas Smokehouse

3 out of 5

The pulled pork which was very good.

Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville at Sea

4 out of 5

Had breakfast here which was great because it was very quiet. I don't think many people knew they had a buffet there in the morning.

Cagney's Steakhouse

3 out of 5

Had a good meal but if it was not part of my package I wouldn't eat here again.

Savor Restaurant - Main Dining Room

4 out of 5

Savor, Taste and the Manhattan main dinning rooms were fabulous. If I didn't have specialty dining I would have been very pleased to eat here every night.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
There were endless activities on the ship. The go carts were great, highly recommend them. Pools and hottubs were near to impossible to get into. Way to many people and not nearly enough seating around the pool or enough hottub space. Really enjoyed the silent dance party although we didn't stay the entire time as it got really hot in the room.

Bliss Casino

3 out of 5

Played some slots and had fun participating in the slot tournament.

Bliss Speedway

4 out of 5

Had a great time on this although it was really difficult to get around slower drivers.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were great, wasn't thrilled with Havanah but the comedy show, Jersey Boys and the bands playing around the ship were great.

Bliss Theater

4 out of 5

Great shows with good views from any seat.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Service was good but I've had better on other ships.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was very clean and had good design however the elevators were always full so be sure you are ready to walk up and down the steps a lot!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Room was narrow and a bit tight to get past the end of the bed and the counter but was clean and for the amount of time we actually spent in the room it was fine.

Ship tip

Don't bother rushing to Guest Services to get a Vibe pass. We were the 8th person on the ship from terminal B and by the time we got to Guest Services they were sold out. We were told they only give out 35 Vibe passes. Ridiculous for a ship with over 4,000 people.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

4 out of 5
We did the Hurricane boat ride to see celebrity homes and to do a few boat spins. Highly recommend, it was a lot of fun!

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

3 out of 5
It was obvious that this port is still recovering from hurricane damage so we choose to take a Catamaran over to Jos Van Dike. Boat ride was great but beach on Jos Van Dike was just OK.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
This was my favorite island we visited on this cruise. We took an open taxi over to Mangrove and did a kayak and snorkel excursion. Katlyn was a great guide.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Did not care for this port at all. Nothing but people pushing their goods. We had been to this port before and went to Atlantis which was great but unless you are a shopper and want to barter (not my thing) then book yourself an excursion.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Getting off the boat was seamless. There was a bit of a line but it moved along nicely.

Was wondering if you have cruised Princess lines and if so how did Norwegian compare ? You mentioned this was not as wide as others you have cruised on? Just wondering this will be our 1st with Norwegian as well.thanks!
