The Bliss is a lovely ship, although over crowded for our taste. We stayed in the Haven, which gave us some relief, but we found the "free style" of 4500 passengers a bit overwhelming. Most importantly, we felt there was an "up charge" at every possible opportunity. If I could not afford the Haven, I would have endured a very frustrating time.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Because we were in the Haven, and only because, our embarkation was nice. We were able to cut all the lines.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
As guests of the Haven I expected better. The ever-present opportunity to introduce "up charges" was very annoying. The Haven restaurant did not offer much variety, but the food was well prepared and tasty.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Once again, as guests of the Haven, I did not expect the charges for the various activities. I truly feel these should remain included.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The shows were done very well, although, again, you have to pay for a ticket and then it's first come, first served with seating.
Children's Programs
Our children are 16 and 12
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Most service was good, although in the Haven lounge a bit slow. In the Garden Cafe my wife was made to feel like she intruded when she requested a daiquiri.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
The ship was very clean, but the design leaves a lot to desire. The elevators are insufficient for the amount of people and navigating to the Haven facilities was very difficult and confusing.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin was very comfortable. The size was just right (albeit very expensive). We had to request an iron
Ship tip
Map out your dining preferences and excursions well before the trip. Prepare to spend another $1000
When we woke up for our 7:00am beach excursion it was pouring raining. We inquired about cancelation, but were told cancellation requires 48 hour notice. The sun eventually came out, but it was almost a wash out.
I didn’t like to pay for water when I had the unlimited drink package. RC and Princess includes all liquid consumption with their package. Elevators were a pain when everyone was coming out of the shows at the same time. I will say that they did nickel and dime you
