Review summary

Overall, great time on the Bliss, first time on a Norwegian Cruise. There was a lot to do on and off the ship. Crew was polite and accommodating. The only real annoyance was that the beach chairs fill up but with sunny days and only 2 pools it's hard to have a chair for everyone. There was a ledge all around the kids pool so that was additional seating. Would definitely do again.

Embarkation

Process was very easy, go into the correct terminal, fill out small medical form and go up to terminal waiting area. We were there around 10am and they started calling groups within 20 minutes of us sitting in the waiting area.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining rooms were nicely decorated and the service was good, a little slow but nothing major. The buffet was good and easy to get what you wanted. The best specialty restaurant was the French restaurant and then the Ocean Blue but with the specialty dining package, some items were an up charge (including the entire meal $10/each if you used your specialty dining package). So that was disappointing. We got 4 specialty dining package but I would only do 3 or just pay out of pocket for 1. The main dining rooms were very nice and easy to get into.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The pools were very nice, full size lounge chairs. The slides were good, the tube slide was colorful on the inside. The bigger water slide people had a hard time with the one section but there is a trap door that they quickly got people out of.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were good, Jersey Boys, Havana and Prohibition. Heard Abby Road was excellent but we weren't able to make it

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
Lots of activities, arcade was a hit although it was a little smaller than i thought.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was very good, everyone was helpful and polite.

Cabin / Stateroom

The bathroom was the best layout for the size. The bed was actually a bit awkward with trying to maneuver between the closet and the bed and the desk. We only had 3 people too. But overall it was great. We were close to the stairs/elevators but it was very quiet.

Ship tip

Be open-minded; specifically ask for the brand of alcohol you want; have fun
