Review summary

My husband and I agree the Bliss is the nicest ship on which we have ever sailed! There is something for everyone - quiet spaces, fun bars, a complete fitness center and recreation of all sorts. We never felt crowded. We would suggest a little more space between the rows of chaise lounges on the deck, however. It was difficult to move around without bumping your toes on a lounge. Everything was clean all the time! The food was good and plentiful and the service was amazing. The ports were fun for us - we didn't feel rushed and could easily see a lot on our own. This cruise was for R&R before the holiday season took us by storm - it worked perfectly.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation is always a slow process. Norwegian handled this very efficiently and quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We used the specialty restaurants Le Bistro, La Cucina, Los Lobos and Cagney's, all were great. My favorite was La Cucina - I loved the table on the Waterfront. The food was wonderful and we were served by a waiter we met on the Epic 4 years ago! The buffet was lovely, with a wide variety of dishes, all enjoyable. C

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We used the fitness center, pools, walking track. The fitness center was awesome. Although we didn't use laser tag, slides, racetrack and laser tag, there are a few we'd love to try! My only problem with the pool was it was 6 feet deep and no 'shallow end' to wade in. Since swimming is not my thing, I only got as far as the edge!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We saw so many shows, including Jersey Boys and Havana. Loved the music poolside, too. The "Piano Man" Bill was fantastic - better than any I've seen. He is truly a class act.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I can't say enough about the servers - all were polite and professional. "Mr. Washy Washy" at the entrance to the Garden Café was great - he was so entertaining and sang and talked with everyone through his entire shift - he never stopped smiling. Amber's shopping talks were wonderful, and she was extremely helpful in port at all of the stores. She knows her stuff! Our room steward, Willie, maintained our room perfectly.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything about this ship was perfect - I have absolutely no complaints. We especially loved the observation lounge on Deck 15. It was gorgeous, quiet and had food and drink - what more could you ask for???

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was very comfortable for 2 people, great towels, linens, mattress and pillows. I was happy that the shower was fantastic. We were pleased that the sink was located in the bathroom - unlike the Epic where the sink was in the cabin! No shortage of hangers, and enough room on the shelves for our clothes. We did not need to use the large drawer under the couch. Our suitcases easily slid under the bed and out of the way. Willie, our steward, kept the room extremely clean and made sure we had ice every evening. We love a balcony cabin - we spend a lot of time just watching the sea and surrounding. It's a perfect way to travel. The cabin was in a great location - we walked the steps up to the cafeteria and down to the atrium many times - great exercise!

Ship tip

Enjoy all of it - try all kinds of new food. Visit all the bars and lounges. Most of all, talk with other travelers and discover new things about the ship, ports and travel.

Ports of call

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
We've been to St. Thomas several times and just shopped on this visit. Amber's tips were extremely helpful, and we purchased some lovely jewelry. We had a light lunch at the Side Street Cafe, met the owner of Jackson Jewelry & Gifts, located across from our table. She was lovely and showed us around her shop where we made several purchases. It was a really nice touring day.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

5 out of 5
We had been to Tortola before and wanted to go back to Cane Garden Bay Beach. After the rain lessened, we took a cab to the beach. There was still a lot of damage from hurricanes, but Myett's Beach Bar was there with cold local beer at great prices - the water was warm and the beach was beautiful. What a fantastic day and a very cool port!

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
We had also been to Nassau a few times and chose just to look around downtown. We didn't find it as charming as St. Thomas and maybe a little too spread out. We did some sightseeing and had beer and lunch at the Bearded Clam - great place to get some local flavor. Really good conch fritters, too. A nice day overall, but knowing it's the last day of the cruise sort of brings you down!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
This was the most efficient disembarkation I've ever encountered! We were in the last group and got off the ship 15 minutes ahead of schedule. No crowding or long lines in the terminal either.
