Review summary

We had a very enjoyable cruise. The seas were very calm and the ship was amazing, albeit perhaps a bit too big, this was our first Mega ship. A lot of walking. But on the positive I only gained 4 pounds on this trip. !

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Since I had a rollator, they put in at the front of the special needs line. There was still a bit of a wait, but then the process was very smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The staff was always very attentive to my gluten free needs, made suggestions and steered me away from gluten foods, making my experience awesome.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Seating in the Atrium was somewhat difficult to find, I think activities games, demonstrations, etc. should be done in the theater where there is more seating.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We saw Jersey Boys. We had seen this show in Las Vegas. The show on the ship was abbreviated, but still very awesome, you would never have known it has been shortened. The talent is absolutely spectacular!

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
For the most part staff was very helpful, however at the spa, I had come in a bit early for my appointment and the lady at the front desk rolled her eyes and plastered on a very fake insincere smile when escorting me to my station. I almost walked out!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This ship is very beautiful, excellent layout. My only suggestion is more chairs on the pool deck as opposed to loungers. Some people can't lay out and can only sit. Being mobility challenged this was a bit of an issue for me.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
On embarkation day our toilet would not flush. We had to call service desk twice before getting it fixed. when the engineer came he commented not to flush anything but toilet paper, which is what we flushed. I was a bit put out because I felt accused of flushing inappropriate material, which I had NOT!

Ship tip

Be prepared to do a lot of walking. If you are mobility challenged be sure to bring your rollator or a cane. There are only 2 banks of elevators (8) one in the forward section, one in the aft.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

4 out of 5
We did not get to experience much of Miami, so hard to comment on it.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
There was a LOT of walking. Not much to see, a lot of Jewelry shops. There is however a Pirate Museum, that is pretty cool. Also, Highly recommend the Kon Tiki tour. It was a ton of fun!

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

3 out of 5
Our Land and Sea tour was canceled due to mechanical issues. We rebooked a land tour, which was ok, but because I am a large guy, I could not fit on the bus with everyone else and had to sit up front with the driver, who was not very willing to talk with me. It was a very awkward 3 hours.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
It is very hot and humid, even in November. Kind of sad to see the poor neighborhood, it did not really seem like a "safe" place if you were on your own. Lots of stray dogs and run down shacks.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
This was the easiest disembarkation I have every experienced. My only disenchantment was trying to find our luggage, we had to walk to what seemed like 3 different rooms before we found our luggage.
