Review summary

We loved the Cruise locations. Alaska and the inside passage are beautiful! We were at the end of the cruise lines time in Alaska and you could feel the fatigue of the crew.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Not a lot of direction from embarkation hall to ship!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
There was enough food. until about 10:00 pm then everything shut down except for Pizza and Pasta, and at times there was no staff to help with that. And the dessert counter was closed as well.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Shows were good. Comedian was great!

Children's Programs

No Kids

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room was clean - never saw our steward. Dining staff was marginal. Staff overall was not that friendly.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The Noordam is getting old and shows its age. The men's restrooms all had a very pungent urine smell to them. Trim work throughout the common areas is not in the best of shape. Crew and ship seemed a little tired.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was nicely sized. The room was kept clean. Could use more electrical connections - loved all the USB receptacles. I had to tighten all of the hinges on the cabinetry in the room. After that, it was very pleasant.

Ship tip

The Crow's Nest is the place to be - get there early.

Ports of call

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

5 out of 5
We loved Anchorage and Seward. We also did Denali on the HA train, McKinley Explorer, fabulous!

Haines, Alaska

5 out of 5
We loved Haines, quiet tiny Alaskan town not so spoiled by the Cruise industry. Hiked the Rainforest and the town in the rain - great adventure.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Great shopping and restaurants! The five glacier sea plane flight was well worth the money.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
We had so much fun in Ketchikan exploring the town and Creek Street. The "Deadliest Catch Tour" was fantastic! Well worth the money!

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

5 out of 5
We loved this port. We stayed another six days in Vancouver on our own and that was not long enough!

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
The debarkation process was a bit of a mystery, very little direction from the ship crew on how were to go after we retrieved our baggage and we had paid for the airport transfer.
