Review summary

Overall a little slow for us. This is the 3rd HA cruise we've done and while some ports are nice, there isn't much to do onboard. The most exciting things this time were the Orange Party and the bar crawl.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Excellent. We arrived at our scheduled time of 12pm and breezed right through. Rooms were ready.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Only a 4 because the Lido and MDR were only ok but the specialty restaurants were excellent

Tamarind

5 out of 5

This was actually the new restaurant inside Tamarind called Morimoto. The was by far the best food we had all week

Pinnacle Grill

5 out of 5

The food and service were outstanding. Large portions, couldn't finish our dinner

Canaletto Restaurant

4 out of 5

The food and service were very good

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Not many activities outside of some trivia, shopping and art, card games, board games. Activities are not their thing

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The band at the Rolling Stone lounge was fantastic and played a variety of styles.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Great. Friendly and attentive, especially in the specialty restaurants and Pinnacle bar

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Forgot to take a picture. This was an accessible cabin so it was a little larger and has a nice balcony. Also had a walk-in shower. Great location right around the corner from the elevators and stairs. Going right up the stairs one flight puts you at the entrance to the Lido or the Seaview pool/bar

Ship tip

Be prepared to spend some money in the casino as there isn't really much else to do. We spent a lot of time poolside and in the casino

Ports of call

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

3 out of 5
Owned by Carnival Corp. Not close to anything. There is a pool area with a restaurant, bar, plenty of loungers. Can do this on the ship. You need to pay for a taxi- 70 round trip - or book an excursion to leave the area. Nothing in walking distance

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Been here before. We did an excursion to Sun Cay/Pearl Island. It was ok, a little run down. It was a windy day which didn't help

Grand Turk Island

3 out of 5
Fun day at the beach and Margaritaville. Did a tram tour that was interesting

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

3 out of 5

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

3 out of 5
Been here before, stayed on the ship. Owned by Carnival Corp/Holland America

Disembarkation
