Overall a nice return to cruise. A traditional experience geared to older crowd. The ship is smaller in size,
easier to get around with an amazing art collection.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
Changing pre-cruise boarding times with many emails lead to confusion. We weren't sure when boarding time was, had to wait for results of CoVid test. Arrived at 5pm, before our last time communicated of 5:20 pm. All porters had left, so we had to carry our luggage to the ship, where 2 young ladies helped us to our cabin. No key cards, had to go down to guest services to retrieve. Too stressful start to a cruise.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food was tasty and artfully presented. Breakfast and lunch buffet didn't change from day to day. Food flavor overall were bland.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Not many offerings that we were interested in. Spa was beautiful but expensive. Lido pool has retractable roof, which was great the few times it rained. Seating at the pool limited.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Step One Dance Company was excellent, really enjoyed all their shows. Comedy shows packed; were not able to get near. Not much seating in any of the areas along Music Walk in general.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Room stewards were good, dining serice was inconsistent. More than one once during the week. we felt invisible.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Impressive art collection on board. All areas clean and maintained. The ship did not look like a 10+ year old vessel.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Comfortable cabin, plenty of storage that could be used as selved or hanging space. Bedside storage and desk area with drawers. Minibar set up in fridge. (Additional charge) Generous verandah with 2 comfortable deck chairs and small table.
Ship tip
View all the great pieces of art throughout the ship.
Port under construction. Walking out from the port, we were pestered for hair braiding every few feet... not many shops open for business at this time.
Well organized cruise port. We did an Excursion that was a dissapointing. Was promoted in conjunction with Food & Wine Magazine featuring a Farm to Table lunch at a Ranch. Was a buffet at a new housing resort.type property.
Convenient location at the edge of Old San Juan. We did an Excursion visiting 2 fortesses.amd shoppimg. My husband barely made it through the first fort. He.sat in the bus for the remainder.of the Excursion while I visited the second fort and walked around old San Juan. I would recommend venturing out on your own.
