Review summary

Balcony suite was FANTASTIC! Steward was also FANTASTIC! Food was good. Coffee was NOT good. Bath soap was harsh. Towels were hard and smelled funny. Embarkation and debarkation was well organized. Overall a WONDERFUL cruise -- A DREAM COME TRUE -- and I hope very much to get to do it again!

If I get a chance to take this cruise again, and I would like to, I will choose a time when the ship embarks from Seattle to avoid Vancouver and Canadian customs.

Ship tip

Bring your own bath soap! The soap provided in the shower dried out the skin on my face so much that it is peeling and made my nose and my granddaughter's nose bleed.

Was on last March. I agree , top notch. Very clean, great food. Agree, i like that no one touches the plates, utensils in the buffet. They will serve you what you wish and how mich you desire

Thanks for the review. We will be on this ship in November. Looking forward to a calmer cruise after being on several Carnival cruises recently. We enjoyed Carnival but it is time for something less rowdy.

We loved the Nieuw Amsterdam when we went last March. Not a lot to do on the ship but we loved the piece and quiet. And the food was absolutely delicious. We liked at the buffet how they serve you. We didn't have long lines except at the burger place. Burgers delicious. Our room steward greeted us by name when he saw us and asked how our day was at the different ports. All the staff was always smiling, so nice, and always ready to help if we needed anything.

Had my FIRST aroma stone therapy massage AND acupuncture therapy in the spa. The therapists were WONDERFUL!
