Had a great time and the staff was fantastic! by Cruiser903

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Despite a rocky start due to weather concerns, the cruise went well. There was a plumbing issue, but the service professionals provided a $100 onboard credit to compensate. I wish there was more time spent in each port. There were some activities that weren't listed on the cruise compass, but otherwise everything was great!

Food -- average

rooms -- adequate

bed -- hard

pillows -- too soft

cleanliness -- superb

servers -- most seemed inexperienced, mixed up orders or forgot parts.  Our personal server Neydia was wonderful!!!  We picked her table because she was efficient & accurate & prompt.  At another table we did not get out of the dining room till 10:30 one night!!!

Great cruise! Hate the cruise line! by etexsanta

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise was awesome. Destinations and excurssions were perfect. Food on the ship was OUTSTANDING. The crew was snobby. Watched customer relations personal actually roll their eyes at a customer. Nothing for older guests onboard while at sea. The activities were centered around the 20 + crowd.... Ship always seemed to be wanting to sell something. Felt like I was at a flea market.

Navigator of the Seas by rthdad

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Rough start with tropical storm Patricia greeting us in Galveston.  Royal Caribbean did a nice job of adjusting the itinerary on the fly so we still were able to make all of our scheduled ports.  Overall was a great trip.  Not too many food options late but if you are hungry it is your own fault.  Johnny Rockets was good and at a reasonable extra fee for a change of pace.  We did not try the dining room or other specialty restaurants.  The bar staff was great but we felt the pool deck bars should have stayed open when the had events playing on the outdoor screen.

1st cruise with Royal Caribbean! by FLMyles

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was beautiful! The activities were ok, I would have liked more musical shows and more shows with guest participation.  They were painting on the ship, which led to me having an asthma attack. The medical staff was very good. The food was the same every day for breakfast, lunch varied a little bit. Dinner had different options. Johnny Rockets was very fulfilling. The other restaurants were reasonably priced and the wait time was good.

My opinion by brewer22

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We enjoyed the cruise immensely.  With very few exceptions, the service personnel were wonderful.  However, line dance instructor did a great job the first session, but the second session he was not prepared.  Does not need to be fired just need to be talked to, he is a likable person.  I noticed on the last leg of the cruise a few of the lower level wait staff were not as attentive. But these were just the exception not the rule.  We will book Royal Caribbean again.

Navigator of the Seas Oct 2015 by terideabler

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We decided to pay the extra dollars and try RC instead of Carnival thinking it would be a bit better.  It was not better and in some areas it was worse.  There were several days that the water was not drinkable.  My husband actually had edema in his extremities and elevated blood pressure because of the problem with the desalination system on the ship.  They did not deny the problem and offered bottled water, but the juice, ice and tea were not drinkable because they were also made with the water on board.

On day one we were essentially trapped in our cabin because the safe in the room was broken and it took almost 7 hours to get the problem resolved.  We were told we must be in the cabin when they came to fix it.  We didn't eat lunch though we later realized we should have ordered room service (something we've never done).  We did not get to roam and discover the amenities on the ship on day one.  We did not get to participate in the sail away party on the pool deck, etc.  And when it was finally fixed we no longer felt like doing anything but going to bed.  They comped us a dinner at one of the specialty restaurants but would not comp us for the Steak House, which was our first choice.

The service in the dining room was superb but the choices and presentation in the Windjammer Cafe was far below the Carnival Freedom.  The ice show was great but we much preferred Carnival's nightly shows plus comedy shows versus RC's one or the other.  The entertainment in the other venues was okay but nothing to remember.

We will likely take the Galveston cruise to the Western Caribbean again but we will go back to the Carnival ships and pay less.

how not to get my business by gnchackney

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

have cruised with royal cribbean 10 or more times in the past decade. finally reached "platinum" status, which is supposed to make the experience much more pleasing. upon arriving for check in we were almost ejected from the platinum check in line because our set/sail/pass did not have the required "P" denoting our cruise level. kind employee "trusted us" to not be lying, so we were allowed to continue. had family with us who were in the "commoners" line. funny how they got thru the line faster than we did. next we had done the online our time dining reservation, but that did not show up on their computers on the ship so had to do that all over again. and did not get the original time requested. did not get the onboard credit we were supposed to get and were told that without our paperwork we were !!! out of luck. had to request soap during the voyage. several times.

seems like everytime we have sailed with RC they cut some service, apparently thinking that no one will notice down in steerage. well we have noticed and will not be going with them anymore. we paid A total of over $4500 for this cruise and were not pleased by anything except the food and service of the staff. end of report!!

poor quality foods and extremely expensive Internet service by rlmlucas01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

My family and I were very disappointed in the poor quality and food choices. My mother came home with a stomach virus from something she ate or drank on the cruise. We do not recommend this cruise to anyone.

Great 1st cruise experience by pxiong09

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

As first time cruisers, my husband and I were amazed by the hospitality. The staff were friendly and made sure we were enjoyed our time. The ship was clean and there was plenty of space for everyone to utilize. The food lacked variety. We had an interior stateroom on the 10th deck. It was quiet and close to the pool and dinning deck. The embarkation took about 30 mins to get onboard because we were early. The disembarkation was about 2-3 hours due to an incoming storm. We recommend this cruise and look forward to cruising with RC in the future.

What happened to the cast away parties? by cindykatytx

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Although this cruise was great, there was never a party atmosphere when leaving port.  My husband and I always looked forward to visiting with others, listening to the band and enjoying a drink with others as we left port.  The bands were by the pool a very few limited times on a daily basis and then for very short durations and if you want a drink, then stand in line at the bar.  There would be only one or two servers walking the entire pool area.  Other than the disappointing cast offs from port, we had a great time.  it is a beautiful ship and the crew was all about making sure you had an awesome vacation.

If you like a slow pace and mediocre food, this is the cruise for you by cinnabar75

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My trip was nice over all, just very slow paced for me at 40 years old. I have sailed once with NCL and once with Carnival, so I am not a cruise virgin. This was my first Royal Caribbean cruise. I guess I was expecting much more since Royal Caribbean has a better reputation, and cost a little more. It was actually my least favorite.  Let me start with what I did like. The cabin was nice and the attendant kept it clean.  The staff was very friendly at all times. They showed good movies. The regular beverages were pretty good. The wedding coordinator was great. They had a great band that played Caribbean music poolside. I enjoyed that. After sunset they showed poolside movies, which I enjoyed.

Now what I didn’t like, I felt that the food was not great. It could have been a little fresher in the Windjammer cafe. My main complaint was the chicken. I know chicken to usually be cut into 4 or 5 different parts: drumsticks, thighs, breasts, wings, and backs. The chicken was always cut into chunks with bones protruding. Never did figure out which piece was which. Lol And the fruit was always soft. And the juice used for my drinks tasted a little funny, and made my stomach sick. I switched to beer. The passenger’s service desk was friendly, but they never knew about anything that happened before boarding the ship. As if they had no access to any passenger reservation information. This made the line move slow; I spent 3 hours of my trip on that slow line. The elevators were very slow and one was always out of service. I used the stairs more than I would have liked. And it seemed that most free activities were set up with the intent to sell something not just for fun. On day 5, the ship crew decided to paint the floor of one of the storage closets. He smell was unbelievable.

So if you are not too picky about your food. You don’t like to party much, and have a lot of patients to wait for things, and you like to drink. Then this is the cruise for you. That sums it up……………….

the ship was great but said I would receive 2 on board credits I had to just go to another web site and register I did with in the time they require and still did not receive credits. hides the credits they offer so you end up not getting them and they pocket more money.

We have traveled before on Royal Caribbean and all expectations were the same, excellent.  Only problem is the same as traveling on all cruises  the prepaired deserts were tasteless.

10/04/ to 10/11/2015 Cruise Navigator Of the Seas by Scirocco

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Me, My Wife and Daughter Son In Law and 2 Year Old Grandson went on the Navigator, I talked my daughter into going and bringing my Grandson for the first time. We got processed in and onboard and we met at Guest services at 12:45  PM, My Grandson was extremely tired from 5hrs. drive and the embarking process and I asked the Lady Guest Services Manager if they coud get them in their room and she flatly said No! Just 15 Min. before the rooms were to be ready at 1Pm and she wouldn't help us!! And later on when I went down to put our money in our account I saw the same woman talking to two older people and overheard them thanking her for getting them into their room early!Nervous Later on we got situated in our Balcony Cabin and used the restroom, and My Wife had trouble getting it to flush , the stateroom attendant messed with it and the Tv didn't work, the safe wouldn't open, and 2 hours later I got someone to come open it so she could take her medication. At nights The AC was Hot and during the day it froze us, so I needed it to be cold at night and so so in the Day. The food wasn't good at the Buffet or the dining Room. The workers at the Buffet were unfriendly and sullen, and Lazy as well, later on I found out why! The ships going to Florida in 2016 and they don't have a choice which ship they serve on I was told by one Crewmember. Last year the cruisewas Ok but this year very different!. Ill be going back to Carnival next year, Ive been on 7 Cruises with them and not one problem!! And a lot more friendlier. We were Platinum with RCCL, and were going for Diamond but no more!
