Review summary

My family and I were very disappointed in the poor quality and food choices. My mother came home with a stomach virus from something she ate or drank on the cruise. We do not recommend this cruise to anyone.

We had great food in every eatery. Stomach virus sounds like norovirus. Not caused by the food.

I disagree completely. The food quality on the Navigator of the Sea is definitely NOT anywhere near "beyond amazing."

The cruise line NEVER goes above or beyond for the extremely high prices they charge for everything.

Our experience was a complete disappointment in every sense of the word.

My family and I always make sure our hands are clean much more so when dealing with public areas and large crowds. So your comments about "hand washing" do not apply to us.

I am still shocked about the amount of money they charge for Internet service, bottled water, mandatory gratuity, etc. etc. etc.  I expected much more for the amount of money we spent just for basic items and services.

We felt that the food choices were BEYOND amazing in the dining room!! Exceptionally prepared and always hot. My daughter has managed a fine dining restaurant and I know good food!! Windjammer is of course different, a lot of repeat choices but something for everyone! I believe for the price we pay for these cruises they go above and beyond in what they offer.

I agree with kisele. Understand that you are on a ship with over 3000 other people for 7 days and in very close proximity to them.  It is very possible that her sickness was contracted from another passenger that was sick and not necessarily the ships food or drinks. Handwashing and using the sanitizing stations located throughout the ship help with keeping the possibility of getting sick low. People on ships touch handrails, elevator buttons, chairs and even just being so close such as in the theater can induce the chances of getting sick from someone else. This can happen anywhere, not just on a cruise. And not just on this cruise!

Hand washing prevents this.
