happy the ship was beautiful but you would not no it was refitted a year ago. This was my second cruise with rci the first was the allure of the seas. the food good buffet better then the allure. the ports of call five stars.here is where we go down hill ,rci dropped the ball on boarding,i was lucky to be there early and still payed the price. they had to get agents from princess cruises to help. i was fortunet to board early, they were still lined up outside tillfour thirty it was pouring, and hot even though they were under a cover.next we watched the bags be brought on board nearly all the top luggage were soaking wet mine was on the bottom and had ahalf of a big bag to be dried ruining three shirts.tthere were people lined up for hrs for days wet clothes lost luggege delays what ever.you had to be there. id say most of the people were pissed. next no one new where we wre going mentioning on many times when we port in cozamel we are still in galvaston mode not knowing where thing wre on the ship and saying some stuff was there and it was done away with on the refitting we were told they only show sporting events on big screen by pool. no they also show movies we had to dig for everything if it wasnt for our server at dinner and our cabin att. wow we wre in galvaston mode /cozamel ha ha want more on the allure everyone spoke english so you can understand this cruise was like abbot and costello whos on first.even the front desk it was unbielvible when you had an interaction with most of the crew it was a project oh my god galveston mode cozamel ha hayou had to be there. much more we did have a great time on the islands and worked to have a great time on the ship.showes were sub par nothing like the allure.im sure most of the people we talked to were as unhappy as we were in closing never book a cruise when the ship is changing ports on the first cruise galveston mode cozamel ha ha thank god im not a complainer ha ha all and all we did what we had to to have a good time thanks to our server

Bad beginning Good ending by blanchedissis

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Bad beginning to a cruise - Navigator of the Seas. The boarding of the ship was terrible.  It was pouring rain and the only shelter we had was tarps that leaked while we waited in line. The handicapped and people with babies in carriages  were not even considered. Very bad planning.  When our luggage arrived our clothes were wet and we had to hang our clothes in the bathroom and all over to dry.  Royal Carribbean is our favorite line and we never experienced this before. When we finally got inside it was very disorganized.  Also, The jacuzzi in the spa needs to be maintained better.... Mold all around the edges.

The ship is lovely and employees were good especially in the main dining rooms, The entertainment was good as well.  Take better care of your passengers.

Good Trip overall by kmiller55

Very poor start, (see below) but the great service from the crew made up for it.  Our cabin steward took very good care of us, even making sure we had ice when we needed it. The dining staff was welcoming and handled all our needs.  We had the early dinner and we did feel a little rushed. Bartender did an excellent job and had our chosen drinks on the table as we arrived.  Enjoyable trip,

Bad Start, good End by therealpoohmoss

Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The start of the cruise was a nightmare.  We had to wait outside the terminal in the sun for 1.5 hours, then they finally allowed us to enter the terminal whereupon we had to wait for another hour.  We finally got onto the ship, but didn't get our luggage until 10PM.  When we opened it we discovered that it was wet!  It looked like it had been left lying in a muddy puddle!  We went to the guest services to complain and they finally agreed to wash them for us.  It was supposed to take less than one day but it took three days and when the clothes came back they were still dirty and still a little bit wet.  I think that all they did was hang them up to air dry, not actually wash and dry them.  By this time we were furious (no clothes to wear on the cruise) and complained again.  This time they did wash them (in one day). They told us it was not their fault, that the port facility had a power failure that caused all of the delays and left the suitcases outside a rain storm, but that doesn't account for the fact that the clothes weren't cleaned the first time as promised, and it took four days to get them cleaned.  In the end they gave us a 20% off coupon toward another cruise and a couples massage. The cruise itself was great.  The ship was the most beautiful we have been on during a total of 16 cruises with three companies. They really didn't hold back when designing and decorating this ship. The attractions (Flow Rider, ice show, climbing wall, pools and hot tubs) were great.  The food was excellent.   The waiter service at our table was superb (second to none).  They treated us like kings.  Unlike the embarkation, the debarkation was very efficient.  Despite all the problems, it was a great cruise.

The stops were great but the embarcation and disembarcation was a huge chaos. We have a little daugther 2 years old and had to wait a line for 3 hours. No activities for children under 3 years. It´s a cruise designed for old people...

Good once we got going by dcrimarco

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Unfortunately for us there was a problem with getting on broad, they had no electricity. Also there seemed to be a lack of people to push wheelchairs. So boarding was difficult. Once underway the cruise was enjoyable. Most of the staff were helpful. The entertainment was excellent. There were lots of things to do while onboard,. shopping, eating, exercising, going to the spa, to name a few. going into Cozumel was enjoyable. I am happy I was able to see it.

The stateroom was kept clean. Overall the cruise was positive experience.

Unfortunately getting of the ship was also a bit much. We went to the room were to be in yet no member of the crew was present, when they eventually showed up they didn't seem to know what was going on, one lady in particular was unhelpful and again there did not have enough people to push wheelchairs.

Great cruise, I Loved the food and service. I paid for a suite it was a little outdated.

The entrainment was excellent highlight of my vacation, all made possible by a great entertainment director. I'm looking forward for my next cruise on royal Caribbean.

You have to experience it to believe it. Just go on it. 99% of the time, you're not in the cabin. Not including sleep of course. Great cabin for sleeping and bathing. GO TO SABOR MEXICAN RESTAURANT!!!! EXCELLENT STAFF!! ORGASMIC FOOD, PERIOD!

we hadn't been on vacation in a long time, this cruise was great!  We did our

first excursion, snorkeling in Cozumel, and it was wonderful.  The hospitality on the ship is incredible.  We had a few glitches which I need to talk to BJ's about, but the ship and crew and excursion were terrific!Big Smile

Review of Navigator of the Seas Cruise by dlquinter

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We arrived at port everglades at 930am because we were told by Royal Caribbean the ship would be in terminal 18 at 1000am. We parked in lot 18.  the doors opened around 1000 or 1015am.  the employees had problems getting the doors to open and stay open.  It was like they had never worked at this terminal before.  I thought if this was the worse that goes wrong we are in great shape. Wow was I wrong.  We got through security ok and we got in line to check in.  30 minutes later we still were checking in.  It was as if no one had ever done this process before.  first of all the person we had was incompetent.  we tried to move to a different open computer but were told very emphatically by a supervisor "NO" stay where you are at.  we will reenter everything manually and not take your picture now. we were sent into the terminal and had to come back because we were never given our keys.  We sat and waited for the ship and it finally docked around 1230pm.  It was over 2 hours late according to Royal Caribbean. As we were sitting and waiting in the terminal, the power went out in the building and unorganized chaos started.  Nothing worked.  we sat there and boarded around 230pm.  It never takes 5 hours from when you arrive to when you get on the ship. Once on board employees were asking us where all the passengers were since it was a full ship. We said they were still outside the building with no power. There was very little communication from Royal Caribbean even to their own employees. We thought the day was going to get better once we ate and the ship would leave at 600pm. Wrong once again.  We had an early seating at 600pm and went down at 545 only to be told at 600pm that the dining room was ready but was closed by the captain since the ship was leaving a couple hours late and the life vest drill was being pushed back again till 700pm.  we went to the dining room at 730pm only to find all of our tables occupied with the life vest drill yet. There was no one to control the exit of all these people through everyone waiting to get in the dining room. The tables were already set up earlier and now everyone touched our table cloths  and dinnerware and glasses and napkins.  how crappy is that. We did not finish until 915pm. And thank you Royal Caribbean for not changing the entertainment so most people missed all that.  Very questionable decision making and employees had no idea what was going on and would tell you anything to make you go away.  We went to our  room to change and found a letter telling us that unfortunately we did not complete the check in process and needed to go to customer service to fix this problem. Well lots of other people got the same letter as we all converged on an undermanned customer service staff of 3 people. We stood there an hour. What a waste of day one of our short 4 day "FUN" cruise.  On the morning of day 3 we were eating breakfast with a group of people and enjoying conversation before going into Cozumel. A loud alarm went off and an announcement over the ships communication system saying there was a fire on deck five and to send the fire team there. We all got up to get out but our waiter stopped us saying it is just practice. Then our waiter came up to the table in a life vest and told us he was off to the practice fire test and that we were on our own and no more coffee, juice or food would be served to us. We all looked at each other and could not believe it. We have been on at least 20 cruises and I have never seen or been part of anything like this before. We just chalked it up to everything else that went wrong on this cruise. This was the most arrogant and poor communicating crew we have ever seen on Royal Caribbean cruises. Then to make our 4th day, the cruise director in the theater announces that he has "Good news". He tells us that royal Caribbean has decided that we won't return to the nasty terminal without power and we will go to another terminal which he would not tell us the terminal number. I don't know how stupid he thought we were but all he had to do was to tell us the truth  that we left out of Oasis terminal and it would be there on Saturday and the Navigator had to park somewhere else.  But guess what, we were all parked in lot 18 and 19.  well everyone piled into the customer service line to find out what was going on with how would we get to our parking lots.  There were only 3 people working a line of at least 75 people. We tried to call at least 20 times and no one would answer. Great customer Service.  Then on saturday morning we got in the walk off line at 600 am with hundreds of people and were told we would be off by 700am. But no, we were delayed an hour till 800am.  We were told that Royal Caribbean was going to provide a parking lot shuttle that would run every half an hour to take us to the lots.  Great!! hundreds of people with all their luggage trying to pile on these shuttles which is exactly what happened. The shuttles only held 10 people and all their luggage. What a nightmare. Then we were dropped off at lot 19 and had to drag all our luggage to lot 18. We wasted more time on this short cruise standing in line and being tortured than having a fun vacation. So please don't tell us that it was circumstances beyond your control. It was your ship and crew and employees and port contractors. I would like to know what you are going to do about this. Unhappy Customers!!

FT LAUDERDALE PORT AUTHORITY by gringogreenie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

EVERYTHING ABOUT MY CRUISE WAS FANTASTIC WITH THE EXCEPTION OF BOARDING THE SHIP.  There was a power failure at the port.  There was a 3 and one half hour boarding process.  People were yelling at the people doing the boarding process, and no mention of this was given by the port authority.  They had to "rent" a generator to run the system, it did not make for a professional application.  I would be hesitant to use Ft. lauderdale again.  Never had a problem like this either at port canaveral or Miami.

One of the worse Cruise experience with Royal Caribbean by Ambreenaamir

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

NervousWe stood in line for 4 hours at the terminal since they had no electricity. Rest of the port had electricity, clear sky, no inclement weather. Apparently Royal Caribbean was not prepared for the outage, they did not have back up generators, so everybody was standing around in Dark, with no AC. Finally when they got the generators, they could only power some bulbs at the counter and run the scanning machines to scan luggage, when we got to the counter they did not have our information and took manual credit card information, which was never transferred to the ship, we found out like hundreds of others  when ordering beverage in the dining room that evening, so we all had to stand in another line at guest relations for an hour and half to give our credit card so we can make purchases on the ship. Getting off the ship was the same disaster, 3 hours to get off the ship, this time they did not have enough staff to manage the crowd. They stop serving breakfast at 8:30, pushing everyone to make the line to get off the ship, with so many people and issues with credit cards still going, they kept sending people from the exit to Guest relations since their cards were not processed, Royal Caribbean lost the credit card information for hundreds of people. Everyone was complaining as people had flights to catch. On the cruise experience was not so great either. The beds in state room are hard and pillows are so thin your neck will hurt the next morning, that is their way to get you to spend money on messages on the ship. Our Toilet leaked and we had toilet water in the bathroom, maintenance crew was nice to clean it up quickly but it smelled and leaked again the next day. They are pushing you to dine at their charge restaurants, every day they had people outside the dining room trying to  sell you to dine at the paid restaurant ,so they give you mediocre food in the dining room, same dessert and appetizer for 4 days, main course was also not so different, we were fortunate to have a really nice waiter who got us Indian food each day that my wife and I loved, that was the best experience on this cruise. We are Gold members who have cruised with Royal Caribbean before and we used to like it, not after this experience, and as consolation Royal Caribbean offered us 10% off next cruise within a year or a $10 Bottle of Wine, how cheap.

Navigator of the Seas with Galveston Porting by RCCLdedicated

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

First off I want to commend RCCL on the decision to relocate a larger ship to the Galveston Port, the Navigator class of ships is to small to handle the storms in the Gulf of Mexico, making for SCARY journeys in and out!  Otherwise, EVERY one of our cruises on RCCL have been top notch!  The staff is very attentive to anything you could possibly wish for!  We have been on every other company's ships (with the exception of Carnival, no interest there) & have always returned to RCCL, they are the clear winners for value to dollar bottom line!

I had a lot of small complaints and also i had 12 friends that had the same complaints.  The casino was too tights (space).  the buffet closed too early at night and their was a charge for room service between 12 and 5 PM.  this was not a good think.  not enough shopping stores.  not enough floors were you could go out on the rail.

We expected more being RC but it wasn't. It was just okay! The excursions were great! But the food compared to our first cruise not as good. No steak and lobster and no midnight ice sculptures. Very disappointed in the buffets and main dining!!! I don't know if I care to cruise again. Just fly somewhere!!

Carribean fantasy by tracydugard

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our 8 day cruise to the Caribbean on the Navigator of the Seas was an amazing trip of a lifetime.  Every stop we made along the way was an adventure in itself and something that we will never forget.  There were a few glitches in our holiday but nothing that couldn't be handled and left behind once we reached our next destination.  Our cruise coordinator Chris Festerman was wonderfully helpful and a joy to work with.  This is our second cruise that we have worked personally with Chris on and will continue to work with him for any cruises in our future.

Great cruise! by mcqueen2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first cruise with Royal Caribbean and we had a great time!  The ship was beautiful and the service was outstanding. We were particularly impressed with the main dining room staff -- they were attentive without being intrusive, and both had a wonderful sense of humor. We also enjoyed the shows we attended -- the ice show, a comedian, and a multi-talented gentleman who did impressions, sang and played piano, all while providing a great comedy show.
