Overall A Good Cruise by healersherri

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

Overall a good ship.  The ship had a lot of activities, and the food was very good.  Housekeeping was very good.  Labadee, Haiti was very disappointing.  The beach was dirty, the waves were too strong, and walking on rocks was not fun.  Their ice skating has very limited availability, and you can only skate thirty minutes at a time. I was very upset with that.

Review Of 11/23-11/26 Cruise (Navigator Of The Seas) by sunilgarimella

The best part was the variety of onboard activities for both adults and children.

Quality fallen through the floor - Prices gone through the roof by davidlebetkin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

During the past few months Royal Caribbean have reduced the quality of many items. Cheapest food in the main dining room (soy meatballs on formal night!!). This is the first time ever that lobster tails were not even offered. $27.99 (plus 18% gratuity) for one day internet that didn't work properly. Unable to log on to the internet for only 10 minutes a day just to retrieve emails, 24 hours minimum at ludicrous price. Staff "forgot" to call people for immigration leaving many unable to disembark the ship at Boston. The promenade was like an eastern bazaar every day trying to sell, sell, sell. The whole cruise had the taste of a company in financial trouble especially after a senior guest services manager said, and I quote, on why we had to transport our own luggage to the pier,  "We don't have the finances available". Nightly entertainment was very poor.

Great activities and restaurant stff by dgroediger

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

We enjoyed the activities and restaurant experiences.

Our room and attendant were not up to par.   We expected a "virtual window" and were disappointed to find our cabin in such poor condition.

To Miami without a table by donulm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

The cruise was enjoyable - good food and exceptional staff!

However, I do have a comment about the ship's cabin furnishing:

Somebody made the decision to remove the one table (coffee table) out of all the staterooms.  It is my strong desire that that person should take a 32-day vacation (as we did) in his home and have all the tables removed.  Which means they would have to use the floor as the only place they can sit the cups and glasses. And when they eat they have hold their plates on their laps.  Of course, if they want to refill their drink or get up for any reason then they must set their plates on the floor.  What could possibly be the reason the decision would be made to remove all the coffee tables from in front of the couches????

The RCCL web site shows a table in the rooms of this ship.  This then makes it impossible to tell when you are booking if you will have a table in front of the couch on any of the other ships. Is RCCL going to do this on all their ships? I sincerely doubt we will sail again on a ship that has no table in the cabin.

We are Diamond plus on RCCL so it is not our first cruise, but it is the first and hopefully last cruise we will take without a table in the room

Something just not right about how ship was run. by cle1216

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

Had to clear customs in Boston and Miami. By the time customs was cleared in Boston it was too late to leave ship, only one our until had to be back on board. In Miami had to hand carry luggage down 8 floors by stairs because elivators were not working. Then had to stand in line 45 minutes just to get off the ship. Single file.  Ship seemed totally disorganized and out of control, no organization, mass confusion.

What a great trip! by yokum999

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

The service on this cruise was the best from cabin to dining - the staff made our trip extra special. Also, even though the seas were rough, everyone was cheerful. The ice skating show was the best!!

Immigration exercise NOT ACCEPTABLE. Took from 7am to 3:30p to process  GUESTS - no time to see city. Onboard by 4:30p.

Unknowlegdeable Crown & Anchor Rep caused me to miss Diamond Plus benefits.

Promenade Cafe-no coffee cups most days at 8am.

Boston tour-overpriced , misrepresented.

Navigator of the Seas Review by Cruiser86116795

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Loved the cruise, good ports of call.  Pity about the weather but can't do much about that.

The ship was very comfortable, staff extremely good and attentive.  My main problem was the smoking in the casino and the smoke coming upstairs onto the promenade deck, which is the main social deck on the ship.

Good value for money by Cruiser2293143

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Drink package was great. Service was poor. Very limited 24 hr dining. Windjammer should be open 24 hrs. The drinking venues were too small for the number of passengers. Sea days very busy. I should imagine it would be far better when the weather is good. They should not have the parades in the evening down the middle promenade, just not enough space for all passengers, it should be in the theatre.

Ship well equipped for children, and therefore i think catered more for families. Overall good value for money.

Fantastic Holiday by dazzap

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

We had an amazing family holiday to celebrate our parents 50th Wedding anniversary. Everything to do with Royal Caribbean was perfect, nothing was too much trouble and we were treated with respect and helped with any issues or problems we had. It was a shame that cruise 118 weren't the same as we are still awaiting some of the offer's that we had been promised when we booked with them last year.

Half Term Cruise by Cruiser64685515

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Grandkids enjoyed the cruise as did we.   The food in dining room was good but the Windjammer cafeteria struggles to match Celebrity food in this area.   Entertainment was very good not only for the adults but RCI catered  for the kids with their shows.    Still think the gratuities are rather high, especially as they expected and wanted full payment for the kids, but I suppose that's American cruise lines for you.

Northern Spain is a jewel. Beautiful places visited in Northern Spain. by ibanezjunqueira

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Room1804 excellent.

Santiago de Compostela, Oviedo, Gijón, Bilbao, Rouen , Honfleur and Londo, all beautiful.  Northern Spain people welcoming, friendly, and honest. Recommend taking a taxi once on port to different places. In all the ports visited, taxis charged a fixed reasonable fee to take us to the nearest most interesting towns, allowed 2-3 hours on our own and returned us back to port on time.

I strongly recomend the route.

Navigator of the Seas - October 2016 by Cruiser90708010

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

We don't  normally write reviews as I always think it is a matter of personal preference and some people will find fault with anything and everything. However, we decided that we would this to one.

I guess the thing that struck us was that many people thought the ship look a little tired. However, we were impressed.

The check in in process in Southampton was the quickest and most efficient we have encountered on any of the cruise lines we have travelled with. Arrived at 11.00am and were on board at 11.35am. We were lucky to have a beer and cider beverage package as part of the cruise price, and when we got on board we went to see how much it would cost to upgrade to the "cocktail" package. Usually we have to upgrade as a couple, but RCI allow you to upgrade one cabin member! Bonus points to Royal Caribbean. (It was £61.00 extra for the week of cocktails, beer, cider and wine. Well worth it in my book!).

We had a balcony cabin on deck 9. It is the largest we have had on any cruise line. Plenty of wardrobe space, drawers and lots of room to walk around.

Bar Facilities: the staff at the Sky bar outside on top deck were so friendly. It quickly became our "go to" bar. Luckily we had lovely weather!

Meals: we ate in Sapphire dining room every night. Again the waiters we had were superb! My goodness, they work hard. We also called in here on the 2 sea days for lunch. WOW. Worth a visit.

On particularly hungry days, we also had a bite to eat at lunch time in the buffet restaurant. The choice and quality of food is again second to none.

We didn't try the speciality restaurants on this cruise, as there was so much choice everywhere else, we really didn't feel there was any need to.

This may not be the most helpful review, but all I can say is that if there is a problem, we will bring it to someone's attention to get it rectified. We do it nicely, and give people the chance to put it right. However, we had no issues at all.The crew, were all happy, attentive and more importantly to us, seemed to enjoy being on board!

We we didn't do organised excursions, and just wandered on our own. Taxis in all the ports were cheaper than the  ship excursions. However on another cruise we did use cruisingexcursions.com. So much cheaper, and really, really good!  I believe they cover all the cruise lines, and we will certainly use them again in the future.

We we will definitely travel RCI again, and this ship will happily be on our list.

Enjoy all!!

Vacation by frednlucy22

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Phenomenal experience. Ship has been upgraded and modernized. Staff was incredible- always at the ready to serve and assist. Ports of call allowed us to visit sights that one would not normally consider. Yet, each place visited had spectacular offerings- especially Bilboa's Guggenheim Museum and The American Cemetary in Normandy- poignant and inspirational.

Royal Caribbean should be congratuled for providing easy access to those who have physical handicaps. They moved about as freely and regularly as all of the ship's guests.

Would absolutely recommend this cruise to all.
