Poor value as a "Transatlantic Cruise" due to unexciting ports-of-call. by Exploreoften

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

For a transatlantic cruise the TWICE-revised itinerary was totally unsatisfactory for anybody having flown in from North America, New Zealand etc. To visit Gran Canaria, Freeport, (or Coco-Cay), then Port Canaveral was disappointing, even when taking into account the "inclement weather conditions". Please explain how Port Charges are calculated, per person. No doubt those charges would have been high if the ship had docked in Boston and overnight in New York. The staff provided excellent service to passengers, most of whom were extremely disappointed about the itinerary and the standard compensation.

Disappointed at so many itinerary changes, but travel guidelines clearly give RCCL authority to do so when they deem needed. That said, cancellations by so many disappointed cruisers certainly resulted in attentive service for those who stayed on! by rachelannwinter

The crazy 13 days by beckydlany

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

3 itinerary changes, no refrigeration for my meds, no creamers in the dining room - totally unacceptable. No variety of herbal tea in dining room. RC tried to help and were at the mercy of the weather. Lousy variety of goods to biy. Overpriced. Casino needs investigated for fraud. 8 random drawings - same person drawn 3 nights, a man drawn twice. Defies logic.

Great cruise with great ports but in under staffed crew. by cwilliams6872

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

We very much enjoyed the cruise and the ports except for the fact that this cruise seem to be understaffed with employees. Many venues were understaffed throughout the entire cruise.

Good cruise by randy618

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

This transatlantic cruise had a very good itinerary. Royal Caribbean shore excursions were reasonably priced especially when booked before cruise with 20 percent discount. I was disappointed with the main dining menu. RCC decided to save money by eliminating the classic items. If you wanted a steak you had to go to Chops grill and pay extra. One of the things I enjoyed on cruise ships was the included main dining experience. Already paid good money for the cruise and shouldn't have to pay extra to get the best food. Cruise lines seem to be pushing us to the specialty restaurants by cheapening the main dining menu, thus making more money. There were about 1300 Diamond or higher cruisers on board and many complained. We were told the classic items would be added back on the menu for the next sailing.

Julows by Julows

There were a few problems with our cabin, but hotel manager resolved them. Food in buffet has not changed. Still horrible selection. Need more healthy choices. Entertainment was very good especially singer Stephanie Parker. Production shows were enjoyable, singers and dancers were excellent. Only problem we had was the tv. You could not watch any movies at all. Both my husband and myself caught colds on the ship and stayed in cabin a lot more than usual. They need to show afternoon movies in theater or lounge. Especially on transatlantic where weather is not conducive to outside movie watching. Or do like Princess and newer ships on Celebrity, have movies on demand. We watched at least 10 or more movies on the Royal Princess. We like to wine down with a movie after a long day.

Relaxing by Dolganar

The dining room is not worth the time and food quality has gone down hill. It seems Royal Caribbean is trying to push everyone to the specialty dining. We tried the Dining room for 4 nights and then just stayed with the buffet. The ship needed more to do for a 14 day cruise. The staff was great, especially in the Windjammer.

Not Happy! by monicablanchard

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I was very disappointed and so were others that I spoke to on the cruise. I did tell to first time cruisers on Royal Caribbean that they should not let this experience ruin there opinion of the cruise line. This was not my experience on the other ships that I have sailed on.

Very nice cruise. by Larryforrest

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

35 years of sailing and although we don't get to cruise Royal Caribbean often, we really love them. The Navigator of the Sea's is probably the busiest ship we have ever been on. People queue up almost everywhere you go on this ship. Food was better than in recent years but still has a ways to go before it returns quality to years back. Eventhough we had a port cancellation for Aruba, all-in-all, this was a pretty fun and comfortable cruise with a great crew and lots of very nice cruise mates to meet.

Relaxing Family Adventure by Cruise4SrTrip

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I am very thankful for the exceptionally friendly and helpful RC staff. The itinerary and ports offered a great balance of relaxation time and beautiful islands to explore, and the beaches were ALL exceptional. The food selection was good, and quality of preparation very good.

9 days of rest by dvanschoor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

9 days was perfect - I really like the first day at sea, then a stop, another day at sea, then several days of stops and ending with 2 days at sea before returning home.

All in all a very pleasant cruise. There were several nice bars and several good musicians so the evening spaces didn’t get too crowded
