Navigator of the Seas

5 Night Cabo & Ensenada (Los Angeles Roundtrip)

Sail date: March 22, 2023

Ship: Navigator of the Seas

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Review summary

This was a 5 night cruise from San Pedro, California to Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada, Mexico. My adult daughter and I live in Southern California so this trip was very convenient to arrange. We had a quality time together and enjoyed the ship’s accommodations and entertainment.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This trip was a father & daughter trip to enjoy quality time and relax. My wife dropped us off at the port at about 11:00 AM and we quickly went through the boarding process without any delays. We boarded the ship at approximately 11:30 AM, in time for lunch at the Windjammer.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the food although the quality wasn’t as good as before the pandemic. We dined in the Windjammer for breakfast and lunch, and in the Main dining room for dinner. We also ate once in the Chops Grille. We also made use of the concierge lounge for drinks and hors d’oeuvres during the happy hour.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There were abundant activities available but we only participated in a few. We patronized the Casino, used the fitness center, spent lots of time at the solarium pool and the whirlpools.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the ice skating show, the production shows and the headliner shows. Kivi the comedian was fabulous.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service everywhere was spectacular. The staff and the entire crew were friendly and accommodating in all respects.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was very clean and we loved the layout and the arrangement of spaces. Maintenance was good.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a Junior Suite which had ample room and plenty of storage space. The bathroom had a bathtub with a shower and a nice lavatory counter. Cabin was cleaned twice a day.

Ship tip

The spring weather in Southern California is on the cool side. Recommend bringing a sweater and a jacket.

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
We had a wonderful time on a site seeing excursion. We made several stops to take photos and enjoyed listening to our tour guide about the history of Cabo. Upon returning from the excursion, we went to dinner at a local Mexican restaurant.

Ensenada, Mexico

5 out of 5
We went on a wine tasting trip about one hour away from port. We tried half a dozen of different wines and we were served a very nice lunch.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was speedy and well organized. My daughter always travels with extra luggage so we used the ships luggage assistance option. It worked out very well for us.
