Ship: Navigator of the Seas

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Review summary

The food was better my first time but I also tried new things this time and I discovered that the new things I tried I actually loved. I also discovered I can't share an interior room. Lol. I'm pretty sure I'll be back on Navigator again sometime.

Really easy and quick

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
A lot of hits & misses. Most desserts are awful. Jamie's Italian specialty restaurant had the best dessert. Sadly it also had the blandest meal. Windjammer was ok for breakfast. Not my favorite for lunch or dinner. MDR had excellent breakfasts, ok lunches and ok dinners. Izumis was an 8 out 10 for lunch.

Jamie's Italian

4 out of 5

The garlic bread and truffle tagliatelle were bland. Badly bland. However my son said the chicken Caesar salad he ate was the best chicken Caesar salad he's ever had. And honestly that amalfi lemon cheesecake is what dreams are made of. The salad and dessert alone is so good it's worth giving 4 stars instead of 3.

Cafe Promenade

They couldn't make a decent iced mocha. But the hot coffee and fruit & cream pastry was delicious.

Izumi Sushi & Hot Rocks

So much delicious food. My only complaint was my beef was too chewey in my Udon Noodles. But I never had udon noodles before nor had I had Izumis mochi ice cream dessert and I discovered that I really liked both.

Playmakers Bar & Arcade

Good chicken wings and love the onion ring tower. The horseradish sauce with the onion rings is way better then ranch.

Johnny Rockets

Burgers tasted no different then the ones you get in Windjammer. Cheesy fries decent.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I don't know if it was the cruise director or what but honestly there wasn't any fun energy or vibe like on my last time on Navigator in November. Trivia girl was hilarious. Too cold for me for outside activities again. Favorite was the escape room. Well worth the small fee. My son and I had a blast.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
iSkate was once again amazing. Loved seeing it. The headliner comedian that my son went to see wasn't that impressive. He had a few jokes that were funny. But not headliner worth.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room Steward was pleasant and 6 out of 7 nights my room was done. He said he didn't have time one day. Our dining waitstaff was amazing. They had our drink orders brought with a minute of sitting. They remembered after night 1 that my son loves Caesar salad with no croutons. I really super appreciated the Starbucks baristas knowing exactly how to make my complicated drink after being told once. The rest of the crew was professional and very sweet.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Common areas well maintained including the public bathrooms we used. Saw staff cleaning all the time.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Way smaller then I anticipated for a promenade interior. We had the beds separated which made the room even more cramped. Also, not sure what on earth was going on we were on the 6th deck right over the shops and yet there would loud banging in the middle of the night. As in woke us both up from a deep sleep loud.

Ship tip

Go. She's a beautiful ship. Understand that sailing back to San Pedro the waters are rough. If you suffer from seasickness bring something for it.

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

This lady working in a cosmetic store at the pier literally grabbed me and started putting eye stuff on me trying to sell me on things. I just barely kept my cool. These people getting in your face to sell stuff is obnoxious but she took the cake. I did an excursion on AC bus about Cabo and that was very nice. We stopped at a market to buy souvenirs and walk around. People at the market were lovely.

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

This is the port. Getting to easy. Getting a ride share when you disembark was a nightmare.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

I fell in love with this place. It has street performers working for tips and they are incredible. The scenery is gorgeous. I was able to buy some beautiful handmade jewelry. I want to go back!!!
