Review summary

We enjoyed cruising on this ship, it has many things unique to it that other ships do not have. The Bamboo Bar was cool! Loved the crew’s 70’s and 80’s dance parties in the promenade. All of the shows were great! Food and drinks were good. Waiters and bartenders provided great service throughout!! Dining room staff always working hard. Balcony room was nice. Ship in great shape for it’s age.

Loved this venue. Enjoyed listening to the guitar player, he was a very talented singer. The waiters and bartenders were great. Nice place when sitting just outside pub to also enjoy the 70’s and 80’s dance night in the promenade.

Onboard Activities

Loved the water slides! Solarium hot tubs were nice. Enjoyed playing mini golf too. Only one sea day so not a lot of time to enjoy everything.

Entertainment

Great shows and very talented cast! Enjoyed listening to the Schooner Bar piano man’s and the Pub guitar player’s singing. The ice skating show was one of the best I’ve seen on RC ships.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff always ready to please and help in any way if asked. Our room was always kept neat.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was in good shape for age and time of last refurbishment. There were a few chairs or areas that needed fixing but nothing major and blemishes were minor, just close to needing refurbished again. The ship was very clean. They were continuously working on areas at night and while at port either cleaning or doing cosmetic work on outside of ship. No issues with that.

Cabin / Stateroom

This was a Balcony cabin and I have no complaints about the cabin. Bed was comfortable but a little hard and pillows were fine. Everything worked well in bathroom and there was plenty of space to stash stuff in room. The balcony was great and had a wonderful view. There are two hooks just outside bathroom to hang stuff on and on back of bathroom door. One outlet with 2 plug spots on the room desk/vanity area. Also one in ceiling of bathroom for an electric shaver. The balcony was great and had a wonderful view! Noise was not too bad considering it was located by the hall entrance and stairwell just outside hall. The room steward always kept room neat and clean.

Ship tip

There are plenty of things to do and ways to have a great time, it’s really up to you to make your cruise what you want it to be. Make reservations early for specialty restaurants. Make a plan so you know what shows/or activities you want to see or do and which may conflict with other things you want to do or with your dinner time/port time. If you like to see the happenings around the main pool area on sea days, make sure to get there early for a spot, it’s first come first serve and people do save areas even though it’s not allowed in words. Have a fun time!!

Ports of call

Ensenada, Mexico

Enjoyed our stop here. We decided to play it by ear and just hang out in downtown area and around port. The flowers were beautiful! We went to Hoosong’s Cantina to try their margaritas, we heard they are one of places that claim as originator. The margaritas were refreshing and very strong. We next went to La Guerrero Rense to try the famous tostadas and they were delicious!! We finished off at the the other place that claims to be originator of marg at Bar Anduluz located in the Riviera area in a large white building towards the left of where ship is docked. These were the best and they had several flavors too, they do not have food here.

Catalina Island, California

Loved this little town! Fun riding golf cart first 2 hours and taking in all of the beautiful views. We then ate lunch at The Lobster Trap and it was delicious, drinks were great too. We enjoyed to beach club for a few hours, we rented a cabana and the staff came by often checking to see if we needed anything. Staff a came by offering nice cold rags, grapes, and even popsicles! We even had time to fit in a bit of shopping, I found a wonderful piece of art in a store called Twos Company of Avalon.
