Review summary

We are retirees who took this cruise, not because of the ports but for the "ship experience." It was a most wonderful experience. We had no expectations because of Covid and were concerned prior to boarding the ship. We now have no concerns as we felt safe and were most comfortable. We are now looking forward to our next cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Good food with much fewer people than normal. Windjammer is no longer self service, your are served everything by crew members. At is the same way in Diamond Lounge also. No.more self service ice cream on pool deck. It is served to you. Another big change as there are no longer "shared tables." Only eat with your travel party.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Royal has all of the normal sports or leisure activities available. Since ship was recently updated ALL the facilities are well manicured and cared for.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Stage shows and Production show were top notch as was the musical offerings.

Children's Programs

Didn't travel with children

Service and Staff

All the personnel on the ship were top notch and friendly. They showed they cared about us and wanted to be there.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It seemed to me that everything was laid out well being regular Royal Caribbean customers we are very familiar with ship layout. The ship was very clean and well kept.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was normal suze for a balcony. It was very fresh and clean. We were most comfortable.

Ship tip

Nice ship, small in comparison to newer ships.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

5 out of 5
Easy in and out, everything very close. At the end of the cruise we did an excursion of Los Angeles. Hollywood and Beverly Hills. We were then dropped off at airport.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

3 out of 5
Unless you like to bar hop or fish there is not too much to see or do there.

Mazatlan, Mexico

4 out of 5
More to see and do at this port. We took a private tour

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
Nicest of the three ports. Since this was our fourth time there we didn't take avtour but not off ship to walk and shop. A shopping mall and Walmart/Sam's Club are directly across the road from where the ship docks.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very quick and "painless". Never checked our luggage or asked any questions of us.
