Review summary

May be a long time before we cruise with Royal again. We even talked with someone at the airport when leaving who thinks Carnival has passed Royal in quality.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Windjammer Marketplace

1 out of 5

Same food every day except for the "theme" of the day selection, which was only in one section with everyone waiting to get some. Stale breads from sitting out so long, same 3 types of lunch meats every day (olive load, salami and some other unkown type ham) salad bar selections limited, same hot foods every day, burgers didn't taste like burgers

Thought the Navigator was recently remodeled? Looks exactly like it did 7 years ago, only older

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Smaller than I thought it would be. Lost power one day and had to call for maintenance. Toilet didn't work consistently for a few days. Called on it twice. Only thing good was the virtual balcony screen, except the day we lost power

Ship tip

Best of luck! Get the drink package to make it appear better than it is.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida Did not visit port

Arrived and left from airport

I was hyping up this port at work since we booked it back in June. WHY did Ma Nature think it needed to be a rainy day?!?!

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Wife balanced out Saturday night, walking off ship Sunday morning and had to return because we were told a balance was still due

Funboomer47. I've never been on Carnival. That was a comment made to us from someone at the airport who's been on more cruises than we have. Our opinion about Royal is comparing our first cruise experience on the Navigator 7 years ago and this one. Big difference in quality!!!

Went on the Navigator in March and it is tired in our opinion. I doubt Carnival has passed RC though...

We got off the same cruise as you and there is room for improvement with Royal but I don't think Carnival has passed Royal, they both have the goods and bads. The food seemed to be the same after 5 days, The food service was slow in the sapphire dinning room. On a scale of 1-10with 1 being bad and 10 awesome I would rate Royal a 7 for the Navigator of the seas and the food. Now the ports of call were awesome 10+

So what was the problem that makes you think Carnival is better?
