Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas

Sail Date: September 27, 2015

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

This was our 4th cruise with RC sailing out of Galveston.  We always enjoy sailing with them.  The crew, food, facilities, excursions are always very good.  We did think the Navigator was showing her age a little, but RC is pulling her for an overhaul and replacing her in Galveston with Liberty.  RC appeals most to a middle aged and older crowd which we like much better than a rowdy, noisy, late night crowd.  They're also great for younger families, too, as they're kid's program seems to be quite popular.  We found no need to eat in any of the specialty restaurants as the main dining room always offered good choices and great service.  I know we will go on a RC cruise again.

Cabin / Stateroom
Good location - relatively easy to walk to other decks, up or down. Always love having the balcony.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
With several thousand people taking the same boat, both embarkation and disembarkation are a long process, especially disembarkation. We had to stand in line for over an hour to disembark and go thru customs. AND, as of Jan. 2015, any "duty free" liquor purchased is charged an additional tax by the state of TX. They do have places for the elderly to sit during the long process and luggage handlers to help, also.
Ship Quality
Onboard Activities
Children's Programs
We didn't travel with any children; however, watching other younger couples with kids, they seemed to enjoy and appreciate the onboard kids programs.-
Entertainment
Cozumel, Mexico
Great margaritas served at cheap price $6 right on the pier in shopping mall area.
Belize City, Belize Excursion to Mayan ruins Lamanai site very impressive! Friendly locals.
Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
Snorkeling from "Fantasy Island" resort very good. Friendly spider monkeys will sit on your shoulder. Friendly locals.

Tip

Whether it's the Navigator or any Royal Caribbean ship, the crew from cabin steward to dining room table waiter have always been fabulous. Ask and ye shall receive-with a smile. We asked that our room always have the ice bucket filled for the evening-no problem. Be sure to eat at Johnny Rockets-fun
