Would not recommend MSC cruise line due to their customer service.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Not bad, acceptable and comparable to other cruise lines.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
The main dining room was nice and our waiter, Joseph was very good. The buffets food was good and a nice variety. The drinks however were not very good at all, don't know how you can mess up a strawberry daiquiri but they managed.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
They had several pools which was very nice. Not very many other activities.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The stage shows were good, especially the Michael Jackson one.
Children's Programs
No children with us.
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
Never met our room steward. Only bare essentials in the bathroom, limited towels and no washcloths. No instructions on how to turn the lights on in the cabin. Was told to call guest services for instructions and that line was continuously busy. Finally a staff member told us you had to put your card in the slot on the wall. Never encountered this on other ships. Our waiter in our dining room was the only one who provided great service on the entire ship. He called us by name and met all our needs. Other ship personnel throughout the ship did not go out of their way to assist or answer questions. Took 30-40 minutes to get drinks by the pool. Water was not easily available to stay hydrated, had to go to buffet areas which was not right by the pool as the numerous other ships we have been on.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The ship appeared to be clean but layout was a little confusing.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The bed was very comfortable and the configuration was good. A little noisy while shows were going on.
Ship tip
MSC really needs to review their customer service which is sorely lacking. We have been on numerous cruises with different cruise lines and their staffs treat the passengers much differently, like they really care about meeting the passengers needs. Customer Service is not their priority.
This was horrible. Our zone was scheduled to disembark about 8:50. We didn't get off the ship until ll:00. Most unorganized staff I have encountered on a cruise. Then to make matters worse, we can back to a different terminal than we left from and had to take a bus back to our vehicle!
It is not a good review on MSC Seaside. It is somewhat like my own review of that ship. Pity, such a visually beautiful ship. Thank you for your review.
Seems like most ships we have been on lately have a card holder to turn off the room power when you leave. Kinda messes up Princess since we have medallions vice cards now. But simple enough to cut a piece of card stock to size or use a business card and leave it inserted.
