Review summary

While the MSC Seaside is modern and clean. The ports they dock at needs to be reviewed to improve. Spending 49 hours at sea to go from Miami to San Juan Puerto Rico and arrive in San Juan at 5:00pm until midnight is a waste of time. It gets dark at 5:30pm. MSC needs to take some lessons from other Cruise Lines, especially the staff, it does not cost anything to smile.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
They did have the best embarkation I have used.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining rooms clean, but food did not taste that good. Stopped wasting 1.5 hours in the dining room, went to buffet instead. Buffet food was good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Dance lessons are great, wish there was a bigger area in the ship as there are numerous people want to take dance lessons. Outside is hard to dance when you are learning.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Michael Jackson show a must see, very well done.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room stewards and waiters are for the most part nice, just need to learn how to smile. Many of the other ship personnel need to learn who the customer is. Not so rude and send me to another department to resolve my concern.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very nice ship and very, very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Normal size for a Cruise liner. Clean and comfortable. Loved the balcony which is on the Starboard side as we got the best port views than the port side.

Ship tip

Prices and billing. MSC is about money, you will see this whet they dock, they pay less port fees as they use the worst port locations than the other liners.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

3 out of 5

George Town, Grand Cayman Did not visit port

Ship bypassed port do to weather.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Loved Cozumel, but expect to walk as MSC parks very far away.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Nice island, but even though MSC owns it, you will pay to use the equipment, chairs, umbrella . . .

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Went very well.

Being in a port in the evening is kind of worthless.

Well with them being the newest kids on the block and in the Caribbean market they do have a lot to learn as well as they don’t have a lot to choose from with being the last in the market so they have little choice you’re taking what they can until they can build up a reputation here in the North American market.
