Review summary

I was extremely hesitant about booking this cruise on MSC because of the bad reviews, I'm so glad I booked it. The cruise was amazing and the shows excellent. Most of the bad reviews were Americans complaining about the food and the variety of languages spoken on the ship, for the life of me I don't see how that's a problem, I actually loved hearing the many different languages and would book again because of the diverse crowd among other reasons. As far as the food, I have to say it was better than on Royal Caribbean for the most part. Shout out to my room attendant Yvon from Madagascar who made sure my room was impeccable and was very friendly and polite. One day the light in my bathroom went out and I called guess service, someone was in my room within five minutes to fix it and they followed up to make sure everything was taken care of which I thing was great. As if that wasn't enough, they sent sparkling wine and strawberries dipped in chocolate the next day to my room. This was completely unexpected and really cemented my positive experience with MSC. This was my first cruise with MSC and I can't wait to sail with them again next year in Europe.

I dined mostly in the main dining room with the exception of one night at the sushi specialty restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised with the food quality and variety considering the bad reviews about the food.

The shows were excellent and memorable. I can't believe the complaints I read about MSC offering Opera to Americans as if Americans were uncultured savages who only listen to autotuned bad singing and half naked performances a la Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce. MSC please keep up the good work, the shows were my favorite of the entire experience at sea.

Children's Programs

My daughter loved the kid's club, I especially enjoyed that they took them out to the general population to dance and do other activities. I was nice to see my daughter dancing on the Miami beach pool deck with all the other children in "Doremi". One thing I would love that they have was a beeper to give parents at drop off in case they needed to reach out to me for any reason about my daughter. But all was well, there was no problem that they need to contact me for.

My room attendant, Yvon from Madagascar was great. He was polite and friendly, I liked that he speaks both French and English and I especially liked speaking to him in French.

The ship was AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL. The Swarovski Crystal staircases were breathtaking. It's a huge ship and I don't think I got the time to see a quarter of it.

It was a decent size, although I expected a bigger cabin since I got upgraded to an Aurea one.

I was very hesitant about booking on MSC after the reviews, I'm so glad I went with my gut.

It’s so nice to see a positive review. I am booked in November for two weeks and was very hesitant at first with all the negative reviews. I usually travel Royal Caribbean or Carnival. But I thought we would give MSC a chance. I’m really looking forward to it!
