Review summary

I feel like you get what you pay for it was not the best cruise ever but nice enough for the price, and defiantly not the worst.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
check in Electronic process had issues taking our photo so we were unable to select an embarkation time or connect a credit card prior to arrival. One of the Port gangways was broken which caused a slight backup of people during embarkation. The Elevators are terrible with everyone trying to access at the same tine you may wait 8-12 minutes just trying to get to your floor.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
most of the buffet food was good but burgers and hotdogs are premade with lettuce and tomato on the bun, so most of the buns where hard and in-edible.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Excellent fitness center and Pools and waterslides. (note you are not allowed to drink anything while in the pool) this may be a negative for some.

Entertainment

4 out of 5

Children's Programs

no kids in my party

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
waiters are very attentive but my room steward only cleaned our room once while we were onboard

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean and maintained but some may be get lost in the ships layout.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
nice room size but the bathroom is tight like i am 5'7 and i could not sit up straight on the toilet. I had to turn to the side to have room for my knees

Ship tip

I recommend a room at the of the ship. There is a an elevator at the very back that will take you from deck 8 where the rear pool and restaurants are , to deck 18 for the lido pool and waterslides, and buffet access on 16. DO Not book an extended balcony on deck 9 you will have no privacy as all the above balconies look out on to yours.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

2 out of 5
not much to see or do.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

3 out of 5
i used to like this island but they kind of ruined it with construction and they make you rent the beach umbrellas

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
the new port is nice but not everything was open even at noon when we got off the ship. Avoid Senior Frog it is tourist trap. I was charged $95 before tip for an appetizer for 2, 2 drinks and 2 waters.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
we were one of the last groups off so getting off the ship was easier for us.

Agree. MSC is a great value however you have to understand some things will be different than the Royal’s and the NCL’s of the world. We have sailed them twice and another booked next year.

Yeah, the one thing about MSC where people think it’s not a good ship is because they’re not a party boat and it’s one of the reasons why I like it. I have a hectic life. I want to be able to get on a ship and relax and not have all the screaming and yelling and the kids running back-and-forth, but you are right it is a nice shift. You get what you paid for. I just got off. I’ll be getting back on this Sunday. People just need to keep that in mind about this line.
