Overall it was ok for our first cruise it wasn’t all bad I just won’t be choosing msc to cruise with in the future and I think that’s best for me and my kids.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Embarking was fairly easy because we had our documents in hand and it wasn’t much that was needed it was just crowded
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The main dining was nothing special the options weren’t at all appealing and the service was subpar it took two other servers (making it 3 in total) to get us situated because ours was off doing whatever. Ocean cay was terrible most of their menu options were raw. Butchers cut and Hola tacos were amazing service was great and food top tier this really made going to the restaurants worth it.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The slides and pools were fun up until a certain point because the slides close at 6 and the pools are mainly for adults and older children
Entertainment
I didn’t get to see a show
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
They enjoyed the baby center the staff was nice I guess
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
On day one and two service was great but day three and on it just kept getting worse. I’m honestly surprised they didn’t know our names from having to go to the service desk so much. We had to keep calling or look for housekeeping carts because whoever cleaned our room never replaced our items or would skimp out on us. My babies washcloths also came up missing. And we were constantly bombarded with questions about when we were going to use our add ons like let us breathe.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
I’m not sure how a ship is supposed to look but this was ok but my kid became sick because of this place so I’m gonna have to rate this low on the cleanliness scale and at some point me and my kids broke out on our faces.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
It looked bigger in the picture but it wasn’t bad but things became crowded very quickly and upon first glance yes the room looked clean it always did but my child still became really sick sooo… can’t be that clean
Ship tip
Weigh your options first and look around because there are hidden fees and I’m sure better cruise lines out there
This was truly disappointing because I wanted to be amongst the Bahamian people and eat good and when that didn’t happen I was just over it. The island was so commercialized of course it was full of tourists. No excursions were done because we didn’t get that option.
People say hell is hot but I’m gonna assume they’ve never been to Mexico. We went on an excursion to the beach outside of the resort area so the experience was amazing the service was delightful the water was delicious and it was overall pleasant here but I couldn’t give it five stars because the people selling stuff were practically harassing us to buy stuff that was being sold everywhere on that strip and no one took card so we had to get cash which was inconvenient but oh well.
I loved it here even though it was just a mall basically but they had all the amenities we’d been looking for snacks a jungle gym for the kids a ride to and from the boat instead that long walk risking heat exhaustion the people were so kind and it smelled wonderful. We just didn’t get to fully immerse ourselves because we left the boat late.
It was overall easy once we got off the boat but getting off was ridiculous because of crowding and them adding those hidden fees so we were charged more than expected because they had a change in price in July but by that time the trip was already booked for like 3 or four months. They failed to communicate this beforehand and if they were going to do that at least upgrade the room like dang make it worthwhile.
I agree with previous comnent about Ocean Cay. The only people there are from the ship and the island is big enough to spread them all out. I thought the food and service was great as well, except for one night it was slower than I prefer, but I won't say that it was the norm. Also, if your kid got sick early in cruise, it's because they were already infected with whatever. A person doesn't get sick overnight unless it's a chemical, so to blame MSC that's not correct. I'm thinking cruising isn't for you or maybe your expectations of what cruising offers is too high.
Appreciate your feedback. Sorry your first experience wasn’t what you expected. Cruising isn’t for everyone, but hope you have an opportunity to try again.
Their private island commercialized? Full of tourist? They only have one ship a day and they have maybe 8 stores. These comments make me question if this review is real.
